MP3/I-Tunes Trading

I have I-tunes (along with about a bazillion other people) and currently have a library of about 1000 songs but would like to expand that. Would anyone be interested in trading songs. I have a very wide spectrum of music from Sinatra to Joplin to Marilyn Manson. Anyone interested?

I don't have a lot of Itunes msic as I use my ipod for movies, games and tv shows more. I do however listen to Hank the Cowdog on my IPOD so if anybody out there has any on cd or whatever I'd be willing to trade I have about 1/2 of them. thanks.

Wow...good timing for this thread to be started...

I have been fighting it forever...tooth and nail, bit by bit...didnt want to giver in...but I think I ginally am going to have to buy an iPod.

Here is my question - I really dont listen to a whole lot of music any more, except when I am in a car. Can an iPod transmit wirelessly over a car stereo? Also...is it possible to hook one up to a sound board by, say, RCA cables? How much are we talking about to get started? I would want something decent, not top of the line crap with more features than my home stereo and tv... And would I need a docking station thing? How much are those? And how do I get the music? Pay by the song? Monthly memebership to some online place?

Count me in. I have a TON of MP3's, well over 20,000. Closer to 100,000 I think. Being the Commo guy I am, I once ran a scan of an entire downrange network searching for MP3's, and then I took them all. Took almost 3 days to do the entire thing.

I've got a little more than 8,000 MP3's on my computer. I own most of the CDs they came from as I have a LOT of CD's from when I worked out at Excel. I bought about 1 a week. When I got my iPod I spent a couple of weeks ripping them to my hard drive.

I've got an external backup drive that I take to friends' houses where they take what they want and I get what they've got.

My iPod has a dock that plugs into the power outlet in my car and keeps it charged and it also has a built in RF Modulator that plays it through the radio quite nicely.

Also one of the DJ's here in town keeps his entire music collection on 2 iPods and has them hooked up through his sound board but I've never asked him how he did it. So it can be done.

I don't have an Ipod yet but about to get one also. I don't care about watching video's and such so just want one that plays music. You can get deal that plays the music on a frequency over your car radio. I'm sure it would play over a home stereo also. They are like 50.00 or so.

A lot of it depends if you are getting an actual ipod or just a generic mp3 player. If you are going to get an ipod, the ipod nano seems to be quite popular it is 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB. Or the ipod shuffle is the smallest ipod, it is 1GB and will hold 200-250 songs. You can download and install iTunes on your computer, you then can download songs from the Apple iTunes store or rip your personal collection of CD's onto your computer through iTunes. Then you hook your ipod up to your computer to get the songs from the computer to your ipod.

I have a 30G iPod Video so I have music as well as some music videos and TV shows and Movies.

Slap the cuffs on me right now! Is it illegal for me loan you a cd to listen to after I buy it? What if I want to back up that cd on my computer? LOL

Exactly. I am all about buying the CD, then ripping it to MP3 so that when the CD gets all scratched up and unusable, I can make a digital copy. And so what if I MAY have FOUND some on a network. Who's to say I won't go out and buy the artists CD based on a track or two that I Found and liked.
