| Politics and/or religion--------------the mainstay of starting wars------or continuing them forever!! |

| Good post Dutch. I feel the same way only I am way over the hill to far to do anyone any good except to give a lot of moral support and a lot of Prayer. |

| That's great when you are fighting an enemy that has a defined homeland or cares if they live or die. This just feeds into the common misconception that you can defeat an ideal or a feeling. You can't defeat one of the biggest religious ideals on the planet. Because when you kill 100 of theirs for 1 of ours you MAKE 1000 of theirs cross the line into violence because they see us trying to destroy their way of life and kill them and their families for what they believe. You can't defeat terror (or terrah in Bush speak) because it's an emotion, a feeling that can't be erased.

| Yeah lets try to talk them to death.................... really that's what got us here in the first place. They are a clear and present danger - they are a clear and present danger to Islam itself - Ask any normal Islamic if they are supportive of the terror tatics.......... actually I had one Islamic born converted to christian man tell me - what you are seein ain't no Jihad by any means. The right cleric hasn't sanctioned the Jihad so this is just skirmish. He wondered when we were gonna meet skirmish with skirmish.

I beg to differ with you Word. I think you are feeding into the misconception that the battle in Iraq is about an ideal or feeling. It is about money and power. The insurgents are not from Iraq, they are from other places. The fight in Iraq is about who will control the money from the oil, pure and simple. Iran does not want a free Iraq. Not because of some religious ideal but because they, Iran, want the power. Show me how having nuclear weapons is somehow a religious idea? I was mentioning how a war is waged. They want to send in 1000 more to replace the 100, fine. I can garuntee that those coming to fight, while some are willing to die without question, many are not. Their own people will eventually come to realize they too are losing many, many of their young people for a losing cause.

| How did you make that jump from Iraq to Iran? Typo maybe? Yet you talk about nuclear weapons and Iraq isn't even close to that, so who knows??? At any rate that is a pretty big leap you made from Iraq to Iran.

| He's making the point that Iranians and other countries ARE the insurgents....... not Iraqis........... read it again.......... slowly.......... The surrounding countries don't want peace.......... they want Iraq in pieces so they can have the power and the oil.............
