This statement and saying that some Iranians and people from other countries are insurgents are two completely different things.

The above quote sounds like we are at war with Iran. Saying, "there are many Iranians, Syrians and Jordanians that are leading the insurgency in Iraq" would be a statement that the insurgents are from other countries.

I was replying to Wordy's post where he said I had a misconception of what the war in Iraq is about. I was pointing out Wordy's misconception that it is about religious and other ideals. The Iraqies are not the ones fighting us, it is insurgents from other countries and THEIR reason has nothing to do with what Wordy says it is, in my opinion. If the insurgents, which are mostly from Iran and backed by Iran, are fighting for some religious idea and do not wish to be like the West and are not fighting for power of controlling Iraq and the middle east, then what do they need nukes for? Iran does not want us there and they are trying to drag this thing out in hopes that we will quit and go away. THAT has been the problem with our tactics all along. We needed to, and need to, completely control ALL aspects of this fight and not allow these other countries to keep getting things stirred up.

The insurgents are not just from Iran. There are some from Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and probably Yemen and Pakistan and who knows how many others....

I never said ALL the insurgents are from Iran, just like ALL the coalition is not American.
The point I was trying to make, without getting bogged down into splitting hairs, was what this war has become and why it has become such a mess. It does not matter who we are fighting and where they are coming from.......war is for the military to determine how to fight, not politicians. War brings out the worst and the best in emotions, but it cannot be dictated by those emotions.

My point is that it isn't the Iranian government behind the insurgents in Iraq. It is some crazy religious nuts from Iran, Syria, Jordan, etc. etc......Also, all the insurgents aren't from foreign countries. There are some Iraqi insurgents in the mix as well.

It's common knowlefge that ALL insurgents are not Iranian nor Iranian backed - some are Syrian and Turkish, and other countries............ just like not ALL illegals are Mexican - some are Colombian, Guatamallian, Hondurian, and yes some Canadian, Japanese, and so on................

What I think is goin on is that just like you(and me) see most illegals as from Mexico - most insurgents have ties to Iran (by birth, or checkbook) We know the breakdown but are ever mindful of who is the majority - It's better to chase and trap 5 rats than it is 5000........... with 5000 ya just need to toss the match!

I think it was shown that the Iranian Governement is behind the insurgents they sent into Iraq, that is what part of the problem is.
