No, it has been alledged that the Iranian government has "stirred the pot". It is also alledged by the Iraqi (Kurdish) foreign minister that the specific group of Irani's detained and trumpeted as proof of the Irani government intervening have been in the country with permission for up to 10 years.

Old news and the first link that I came to...

March 6, 2006 — - U.S. military and intelligence officials tell ABC News that they have caught shipments of deadly new bombs at the Iran-Iraq border.

They are a very nasty piece of business, capable of penetrating U.S. troops' strongest armor.

What the United States says links them to Iran are tell-tale manufacturing signatures -- certain types of machine-shop welds and material indicating they are built by the same bomb factory.

"The signature is the same because they are exactly the same in production," says explosives expert Kevin Barry. "So it's the same make and model."

U.S. officials say roadside bomb attacks against American forces in Iraq have become much more deadly as more and more of the Iran-designed and Iran-produced bombs have been smuggled in from the country since last October.

"I think the evidence is strong that the Iranian government is making these IEDs, and the Iranian government is sending them across the border and they are killing U.S. troops once they get there," says Richard Clarke, former White House counterterrorism chief and an ABC News consultant. "I think it's very hard to escape the conclusion that, in all probability, the Iranian government is knowingly killing U.S. troops."

The iranian gov't is supplying shaped charges and sending bomb making experts into Iraq to teach the bad guys how to make more effective IED's to defeat American Armor. Don't ask how I know. But it is a FACT.

Well the US should send a nuke into Iran to show them how one actually works, if they ever get one. Strategically placed, I bet it would stop the exporting of weapons to the Iraqi insurgents!

If only. The only problem with having a Nucular Arsonal at your disposal is that you really can't use it all that much. It only says to the world "If you think you can overrun our country, you must have a death wish." But as Al-Q has shown, you dont need to overrun the country to cause terror, any when an organization has no country, then what can we nuke?

Well, if we place it correctly, we could turn the whole damn Middle East into a glass factory!! I know what you are saying Sarge. I was in the Air Force during the Cold War. Our nukes were for "deterrence", not for actual use. That is why it was sort of ridiculous that the USSR had so many warheads. They had enough to wipe out the entire planet, several times over. If one is ever used on a broad scale, you might as well bend over and kiss your ass goodbye, as it would escalate leading to the end of mankind as we know it!

There is a rumor that Israel might take care of that.

Something about dropping a big bunker buster first to punch a deep hole and dropping the nuke into the hole so the radiation doesn’t spread as bad.

Yeah, but that is the kind of surgical strike that will only destroy a site, and then make clean up almost impossible for a few hundred years. Oh yeah, and it will REALLY REALLY piss off the Iranians. I happen to think this is probably a logical course of action, and we should be asking Israel nicely to do this for us. I mean for them. Yeah, thats is, for them.
