Glad to be back home, missed alot of reading on here, take some time to catch up. Emily M. Young SCOTT CITY -- Emily M. Young, 65, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2007, at her home in Scott County. She was born Sept. 10, 1941, in Pueblo, Colo., to William and Gladys Wiggington Cox. A resident of Scott County since 1957, moving from Modesto, Calif., Mrs. Young worked as a certified nurse's assistant and served as an emergency medical technician until 1997. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, a lifetime member of Alpha Omega, ESA and the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars, all at Scott City, and belonged to the Lutheran's Women Missionary League. On Aug. 7, 1968, she married Gerald E. Young in Scott City. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Jerry L. Young of El Paso, Texas, and William L. Young of Dodge City; two daughters, Lynnette Bergen of Clinton, Tenn., and Michelle Lightner of Scott City; a sister, Fern Romano of Gloversville, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna Lynn; and a son, Robert D. Young. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Scott City, with the Rev. Warren Prochnow officiating. Burial will be in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City. Visitation hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Condolences may be sent at Price & Sons Funeral Home : Garden City, Kansas (KS) or pricefh@wbsnet.org. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, both in care of the funeral home, 401 S. Washington, Scott City, KS 67871.
