This place sucks. Went over to see my mother, who is not doing well at all, visit went good except her cell phone was dead. Went to the car and put on charger. After an hour the wife and I went to get her phone and as soon as we set foot in the hall outside her room, cleaning lady had spilled the mop water and forgot to clean it up. Wife took a bad fall, hit head, landed on her wrist and knee. They took her to the er, 4 hours worth, told her she bruised her wrist, pulled neck muscles. Told us she needed muscle relaxers, neck brace, cept they didn't have either one. Told us to go buy the brace, wrote a script out for the meds, and told us they was done.

Huh, wife was hurt in your hospitol, you all can kiss my ass if I am paying for meds and brace. Treated like shit. Hope someday someone sue's there ass and set them straight.

Well Bear, that whole situation really does suck. I'm sure that a new home, new car, clothes and jewelry will help with the Mrs's pain. All paid for of course by the facility. Maybe, our neighbors, have a lot to do with the conditions. On an on I could rant, but, but,. TLC for the wifey.

But it is not only Garden City that is that way. Have you been up here to the Dodge one? ER on the weekends is like a clinic. Anyone who don't have a doctor or what ever they go there on the weekends. So if you need some real help don't get hurt on the weekend.

Most ER's are like clinics............. ask OOD why................. and while you are at it don't forget the millions without health insurance............. yep they are at your ER

As for the fall I would call Risk Management of St. C's and give them a chance to make it not happen again. I'm not talkin money but I would say that a 2nd opinion and follow up could be done at Dodge and I think St C's could and should pay for that. The other thing I see here is your wife I'm sure is still in pain. So what hppened? Cause ya know if ya didn't get a neck brace (which they coulda got off any ambulance) and didn't get meds (which every hosp can supply you with 24hrs of med from thier pharmacy) shereally didn't take the medical advice. That don't look good no matter who's lookin at it.

I would make sure the proper people knew what was goin then I would get downright pissy. I would make one call - trust me the rest of the time they would be callin me and it would be more than they want to call!

How the heck can someone spill water and forget to clean it up... ?? Those tile floors and water ..really bad combination...

TK is right on... One phone call...and then just relax.. Them being rude and nasty and not providing the brace and meds your wife needed is unthinkable..
A freaking hospital ... damn..... She probably is really feeling it today...

Ambulances don't carry neck braces. They carry cervical collars, which are not the same thing as neck braces.

Well hell trust me in my 30 years of nursing I have found that anything - damn popscicle sticks are better than floppin with no support. Truth is it woulda worked for the purpose of argument.

PS - In my 8 years of quality management and risk management....... they also got thier ass in a vice when they didn't supply treatment to a person they injured.

I'd rather have my neck flopping than have a damn c-collar on. That'd exacerbate the muscles, not make it better.
