Free from Sonic!!!

Love em or hate em - looks like Sonic is the place to be on Thursday!!

SONIC® Drive-In Kicks Off Summer with Free Root Beer Floats
SONIC Drive-Ins Nationwide Are Serving Free Root Beer Floats between 8 P.M. and Midnight to Officially Kick off Summer

OKLAHOMA CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Summer is officially here and SONIC Drive-In is offering a great way for its customers to cool off as the temperatures rise. This Thursday, June 7, SONIC Drive-Ins will offer customers free Root Beer Floats between 8 p.m. and midnight. SONIC Drive-Ins plan to serve up more than 3 million free Root Beer Floats to customers coast to coast during this special event.

"One of SONIC's core values is to surprise and delight our customers. Free Root Beer Floats are a great way to do this, by offering an unexpected sweet treat to kick off summer," said Todd Townsend, vice president and chief marketing officer-Sonic Industries Services Inc. "SONIC is the place to go this summer when you need something sweeter after dark."

SONIC is stocked on the delectable, sweet, cool and frothy treat to keep you cool all summer long. The Root Beer Float is a unique treat; you can have it old-fashioned style or blended -- whipping the soft serve into the bubbly root beer for a smooth, delicious drink. And, at $.99 during the month of June, the Classic Root Beer Float has an even sweeter price. The Root Beer Float is just one of 168,894 drink combinations at SONIC, Your Ultimate Drink StopSM.

This summer, SONIC is open until midnight or later and has a variety of ways to satisfy your sweet tooth, including SONIC Blast® Treats, Floats, Shakes, Malts, CreamSlush® Treats, Cream Pie Shakes, Banana Splits, Ice Cream Sundaes and Cones.

SONIC, America's Drive-In (NASDAQ:SONC), started as a hamburger and root beer stand in 1953 in Shawnee, Okla., called Top Hat Drive-In, and then changed its name to SONIC in 1959. The first drive-in to adopt the SONIC name is still serving customers in Stillwater, Oklahoma. As the nation's largest chain of drive-in restaurants, SONIC has more than 3,200 drive-ins coast to coast. More than a million customers eat at SONIC every day; and with more drink combinations than any other quick-service restaurant -- 168,894 to be exact -- SONIC is Your Ultimate Drink StopSM. Thats great. Now, remind me. How do I say "Rootbeer Float" in Spanish. I can't get anyone there to understand my English. Even the carhops. Don't ever think about asking them a question. They nod and smile.

Okay, I was hoping that this advertisement wouldn't get out to many in Dodge. I want to take the family out to Sonic after softball tonight, but didn't want to have to wait for a stall or carhop.

I have seen it on TV but then I don't watch telemundo - my guess they advertise to the community that spends the most money there - take mommies advice and spanish and go get the goods! Wouldn't let a little language stop me!

I am soooooo pissed at sonic now. This is so rediculas!! Went to Sonic, waited 45 minutes for icecream and a couple drinks. I could hear the speaker next to me when they told that car that they forgot about them. That car left. So I use my cell phone and call them and ask for a manager. He gets on the phone and sounds like he is 16. I tried to ask him who owns this store here but I could not understand him. Between his broken english and the laughing and screwing around in the background, it was impossible to hear him. He told me to go there in the morning and talk to Maria ( WHY AM I NOT SUPRISED??). He said she will give me free stuff. He tried to tell me that they are so busy with this free thing... I said i dont care. If you are going to advertise it... then you better be able to back it up. I dont think I am going to drop this. Of course IF I ever get to talk to the store owner I may not be able to understand him either. It would be sad to loose our Sonic, but I see it comming if they dont get their shit together.
