| I love to go to rodeos and watch the competition. I grew up around cattle and have worked at several feed yards in my younger days. I've done things to cattle (easy lurker) that I'm sure PETA would not approve of...(de-horning, casterating, branding, etc.) but these things are neccessary. To be quite honest, I'm not a PETA fan. They are much to radical in thier beliefs for me. However, this steer jerking contest, (and I've watched it) IMO, is questionable. The announcer got it right when he said this competition was held in the a.m. hours so that most people are at work and won't be at the rodeo to be upset by it. There is a reason that this competition is not a nightly contest as other events. I'm not really offended by the event, but the animals do take a beating.

| Many moons ago-------they used to have the single steer roping during the regular rodeo. Nowadays, it is held during the slack, so there are not a lot of people there. I have seen them cart off a few steers on plywood boards before. |

| I can't watch something for entertainment that I used to do for a living. That'd be like going to walmart and setting up a chair in the electronics section and munching on popcorn.

| Man that makes me mad. I don't like people to make Kansans look stupid. Look, I'm not saying that watching the animals dragging on the ground was pleasant but I notice they didn't show any of them getting up and running away. They make it seem like every animal was whiplashed and killed. Then to talk in that stupid fake "cowboy" accent only makes me more mad. It is condescending and immediately makes people who are involved in the industry that they are trying to stop get their back up and get defensive. If they really wanted to change minds (which they obviously don't or else they would have approached it differently) then they need to not be such idiots about the issue. Showing a one sided event and sensationalizing it for the camera doesn't make me want to watch anymore. The only people that they are going to get on their bandwagon are people already there. Plus, if the issue was the animals then why did they spend so much time whining about Dr. Trotter and Officer Cork? My point is that I feel like I want to haul off and punch them when I think their intent is to make me think. I don't get it. |

| I enjoyed that dig against the Army at the end. It's good to know that I can defend that idoit's right to be stupid.

| Probably a bunch of vegetarians opposing the steer and calf roping ! They need to look at who is picking the lettuce they are eating and how it is being treated as well ! They came to the rodeo to protest and were "invited" to leave. Good job to Doc ! |
