The movie version of Dracula was one to be envied. Wealthy, living in a castle, the ability to seduce women, sounds like what every red blooded man (pardon pun) would want. The story of the real Dracula is much less glamorous and far more gruesome. The real Vlad Dracula that inspired Bram Stoker’s novel was not a vampire but he was a blood drinker. Better known perhaps as Vlad the Impaler, we are fortunate that he is long dead. Or is he? I heard that when his crypt was opened the coffin and body were gone.
More on the history here. Happy Halloween!
