As you may know, this past weekend a local family and fellow board member, Craigb, suffered an armed robbery at the hand of a gang banger which resulted in financial loss to him and his family.

No citizen should have to endure this type of flagrant disregard for the law, another's property and safety.

For this reason, many of you board members have approached me asking for a collection thread be setup. First, we needed someone to handle the funds. Bubba suggested Tee since he has done this for us in the past and has proven trustworthy with the accounting and such.

Also, I needed to get permission from the recipient, Craigb. It appears that he is willing to accept help from the board.

There is nothing that we can do to restore his sense of safety for what he's been through. But there is something we can do to help restore his faith in humanity and his community.

Lets all thank God that we weren't put into this situation and help him to alleviate his immediate financial needs for rent and medicine.

FYI - I will disburse funds daily via check to craig based upon money received that day. I will cover Paypals 5% fees. I have already sent one check to him which he should receive tomorrow based upon anticipated donations.

For accounting review, I will disclose your member ID and donation amount (in this thread) to show members that their donation was properly received. This will serve to provide a checks and balance system, if you will. Then Craig will also know what is on its way to him. If you do not want your ID disclosed, please say so in the Paypal comments and I will show it on here as "ANON".

From the bottom of my heart I thank each and every one of you who has shown us the support we have needed so desperately in these past few weeks.

I wish I could thank you all face to face for this blessing that you have bestowed upon my father and I. You all have given me hope that there are still good and honest people out there.

These two small paragraphs can't even begin to convey the gratitude my family has for you all. I wish I could say more to show you my thanks. But i don't believe that there are enough words in the English language that are used to express gratitude.

In short. Thank you for all that you could help with. It will be put to good use. You are all amazing wonderful people.
