The Aquarium in CC is awsome. Attended a military funcition on that carrier. They say it's haunted. We were there at night and it is errie but sure is pretty! Corpus is a beautiful city with lots to do - just like SA.

I think we have stayed at the Holiday Inn you speak of but I like the hotels on the riverwalk. I really wanted to stay at Menger... (sp) but it was like $300 a night on the weekend. Needless to say - I just went fishin that weekend! LOL

We stayed at a Holiday Inn that was right on the edge of down town. For a very low fee, you can buy bus passes that go all over the down town area. There are three or four different routes the busses take, all color coded, and easy to read. Our hotel was half a block from a stop, so we didnt even drive. The busses go all over - the Alamo, different places above the Riverwalk, you name it...

On the way down - and the way back actually - we stopped at a HUGE outlet mall not too far away from SA. I want to say New Braunfels, but I could be off on that, but just ask around when you are in the area and people will know what you are talking about. For those who like to shop, they had everything - clothes, shoes, sporting goods, home decor...we dropped plenty of money there!

We also spent one day and drove to Corpus Christi - had no idea what there was to do there, but ended up on the beach touring a retired air craft carrier, which was really cool. It is a museum now complete with retired air craft and you can go all over the ship.
Umm, are you still married Radio??

I agree - I would have loved to stay on the riverwalk itself, but it was a honeymoon - we wanted to have some money to do things with, rather than be stuck in a $300 a night hotel! As it was, I think this hotel (which was relatively new) was only about $99 a night I believe (course, that is with a military/law enforcement discount). We left on a sunday, spent the night in Dallas, drove to SA the next morning, stayed for 3 days and nights, then back to Dallas for a night, complete with a show at Medieval Times. It was nice driving too - the only trip my monte carlo has been on, and it was a totally comfortable ride!!

And yes, I am still married....to the same woman I took this honeymoon with...something I should know or be worried about????
