LOL yeah I would like a trip to Garden, but not for that reason! Plus with medicaid they would probably deny the claim since he could have gone to the hospital in Dodge.... Damn insurance!

I would urge you to only use the ER - if this kid is actually having breathing issues. If you can take a pleasure drive to combine to an ER visit - you might get popped with the bill. Which could be in the thousands. Most ER rooms are $1500 just to open the curtian where the bed is.

If it's not that dire - use your MD of choice - save the ER for those that need it - it will cost you less in the long run.

Well said Tex! That's why I've been trying to have her hold off but he does sound like he's getting worse. I guess we'll see how he is this evening and go from there.

Medicaid WILL not pay unless it's life threatening.

Yeah but "difficulty in breathing" for any infant - is life threatening. It's admission criteria if the O2 levels are low - which doesn't take much for infants - they have tiny lungs and don't understand - take a deep breath.

Make sure you have wheezing if you use the ER or if the kids is using abdominal muscles to breath - Medicaid isn't going to turn down breathing difficulties. Above all don't let non payment scare ya too much - you can fight the payment after the fact - MD's know how to document to get thier payment - leave it up to them.

If you are worried the kid isn't breathing easy - just go!

I'd rather not say since he's a pretty well known Dr. in Dodge. I have talked to several other mothers who take their children to this Dr. and they have the same concerns about medicine though... I'm sure if you think long enough about it you will figure out who it is...
