Gas prices and Dem Promises...

In a press release dated April 24, 2006, Pelosi said, “Democrats have a commonsense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging, rolling back the billions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, tax breaks and royalty relief given to big oil and gas companies, and increasing production of alternative fuels.”


Ummm.....yeahh.....How's that working out Nancy?

If Democrats had any common sense they wouldn’t be Democrats.

Who else would believe that raising taxes on a business would bring down the cost of that business’s products.

Congress has hearings with the oil company CEOs every few years on price gouging. They haven’t once proved anything.

By persuing alternative fuels, the Dems (and Reps) have not only succeeded in causing the fuel prices to skyrocket at an acccelerated pace. They have caused food prices to raise in record fashion. There are now stores that are rationing rice. The poor people of the world have to be so proud of us.

With the world price of crude going up and the dollar falling, there is only one way for petrol/gas prices to go and thats higher!

...and who is to blame for your $10 a gallon gas? How much of that is taxes to pay for your countries socialist spending programs.

Don't worry...if a Democrat gets in power here it will be the same...everything will be taxed to death to pay for their billions in social programs.

Man this needs breaking down:
Price gouging: I know of know place that does price gouging, in fact price gouging is illegal in ever y state. Now if the federal government wants to look at fuel taxes.......

Tax subsidies and breaks, relief: I have already mentioned that it wasnt until the last couple of years did oil companies start making a profit after losing money for the past 10 or so years due to reinvestment in searchng for oil and investing in its extraction and other services along the line, the money now is likely going towards the same thing.

Biofuels: To burn our food for fuel is absolutely insane. Right now futures are going through the roof, there is rice rationing, an African rust virus rushing through parts of the world. To burn food for fuel at this juncture is insane and will cost the lives of millions of people in the near future, the worlds poor will be holding pitchforks at the 'civilized' worlds neck in the not too distant future.

Because Haliburton likes it that way.
OPEC likes it that way.
AND people keep paying it instead of conserving and making them choke on the glut.

Gas will hit $4 a gallon this summer and just when everyone is at their breaking point it will back off to about $3.25 for the winter. You know the price you were screaming about a few months ago.

Then they will start creeping it back up again to that $4 mark but since you are comfortable paying that $3.25 now that $4 isn't going to be so bad. The next time it goes back down It will be all the way to $3.50...

Repeat.
