| Do they have to be living? If not, I nominate Steve Brown, for teaching all of us about courage in the face of adversity. The plaque could be given to his family. If they have to be living... then I third the nomination of officer Brian McGrew. I would also like to nominate Mr Evans, the past Jr High school principal, for steering so many (me) kids back onto the correct tracks.

| Steve Brown was a good friend of mine, and I would agree with Tee. Also, Officer Brian would be highly suggested, although I don't know him or what all he has done other than what has been said on here. For a third nomination, since this is for the "DODGEBOARD", Citizen of the Year, I would like to nominate Tee, as he has given a lot of his time in helping with the Thanksgiving Meals, the Big Bros/Big Sisters, and for helping with CraigB's tragedy awhile back. There are many deserving people, so I guess we would need nominations and a vote to decide. Just so the "campaign" doesn't run on like this Presidential Campaign has! ![]() |

| Well, now that I have read the other thread, I guess i need to change my ideas! I would like to nominate Charlie Mead. For those of you that don't know Charlie, he is the little guy that is dressed in sharp Western Wear, wears a badge on his hat, and you see him all over Dodge City giving tours, visiting with tourists, helping visitors, and so forth. Charlie is a great asset to Dodge City, and is remembered worldwide for his friendliness, knowledge, and assistance around town. I have seen Charlie go way out of his way to welcome tourists, advise them, provide knowledge of DC and the old west, and is genuinely appreciated by visitors to DC. On top of this, Charlie does most of this of his own free will, for little to no compensation. I think he is a great asset to Dodge City, and promotes the area as a true gentleman and friendly, caring, citizen! |

| Here is a few from me: Derise Unruh from New Chance All the Mennonite women and men for all their kindness to the community and doing all they can to help anyone they can. These people do so much. Shirley Newton from Wilroads Garden Church All these people are wonderful and go out of their ways to help people in and out of the community.

| I suggest this. Co-winners and have the officer be the one to deliver the award to the Brown family? or make a special award for one or the other and still have the officer deliver the award. Good for DodgeBoard, the police, and the Browns!! I did not know Steve, but have listened to him enough to feel like he was a friend even in a minuet sort of way. He is deserving of any award this town has to offer in remembrence. |
