They also have Camp Dodge, at the Sheridan. I know last year my friend told me they took the kids to Great Bend to the water park there. They also take them swimming here, and have all kinds of activities for them to do during then day.

Camp Dodge is a great program for kids! I'm sure my child gets to do much more with them, than he would if he stayed home. The cost is reasonable when you consider just all the things they do. They go on weekly field trips, generally out of town, as well as go to All for Fun periodically, to the swimming pool twice a week, a movie at the Cinema Circle and all the games, crafts, and activities they do at Sheridan. We are really quite fortunate to have such a program available. Kudos to the City!!

Well it looks like Army's gotten through to you, even moving to be closer to him. It's at this point I'd say if you're getting an ounce of public assistance that you should have it stopped immediately. Since you're doing so well with only one of you working.

I really don't agree with this... My husband and I both have to work just to keep up with our two older vehicles which are as yet not paid off, and our utility payments. We don't even have any kids yet. Neither of us smokes or drinks, we only go out to eat very rarely, and hardly ever go to the movies. We have one credit card, and only one, and we only use it for emergencies or for a few groceries when payday isn't for another few days.

I admire families that can make a single income work, but it's very very difficult in today's society. I for one certainly don't appreciate the insinuation that families where both parents work do so out of greed for material things. It's often because they are trying to make things better for their children, trying to provide a better lifestyle than what they themselves grew up with.

Agree or disagree, your choice, that's just my opinion.

No public assistance here! I didn't mean any harm in my post, that's just how I feel about things.

Why do you always have to drag my name into the fray? I didn't "get through to her"...grrrrrrrrr.

What I think Sherry is trying to say is that she is a stay at home mom because she has two small children and it's better to raise a child that way than shoving them in daycare and working. They have one car and do without some things so they can pay off bills and give their kids the attention they need. NOt all people do that or can do that. I commend Sherry and her husband for this.
