| Thanks JW, I had forgotten about that song. After watching the link, I remembered another one from WAY back. Hope the link works. In 1992 the Moving Wall was in Minneola for about a week, and I was asked to man the tent on the last night there. I did NOT serve my Country in the Military, but was raised in a family that ALL served in WWII, so when asked I gladly accepted. It was a night I will never forget, ever. It was really cold for the last of May, and wet. The sky was covered, and fog rolled in. The Wall was on the football field there and about 2 am I heard a car door close. I watched as a lady walked hurriedly up to a certain spot and stood there, just looking. I stayed in the tent quietly. She laid something on the ground in front of that panel, and then and spent quite awhile kneeling there. The other person in the tent with me suggested maybe we should go out and see if she was ok. I didn't think we should. I thought maybe now, Finally, whomever she was got to say GOODBYE. To Army Strong, AOO, Gunny, Lt. Lucas, Sgt. Graham, Mrs. A_S, Unicorns son, and many, many others Thank You. To my Uncle Don that was killed by the Japanese in WWII, to my Dad and Step Dad, to all the other Uncles, Thank You. God Bless You. To my friends that served in Vietnam, Thank You. AND to whomever the lady on a cold and foggy May night in 1992 came to say goodbye to, Thank You. You Gave it All, and I will never forget who you are! | WOW!! That is all I have to say. It is great to honor the men and women that have paid the highest price for freedom. Grainy it is great to hear people say thanks for those of us who currently serve. Just remember that those of us who do serve do it freely. For me it is my honor. For the members if you get a chance to say thanks to someone in uniform please do. I don't care if it is hold open a door, buy a meal, giving a hug, or just saying thanks for your service. I would challenge each and everyone of you, the next time you see a service member in uniform let them know that you care.
