#1) Most all electricity is made from burning fossil fuel (except wind, water, or nuclear energy).

#2) The USA is taking it in the "shorts" with current fuel prices. Explain to me why Diesel fuel is more expensive than gasoline????

#3) Nuclear Energy is cheap and available, why doesn't the US utilize it like the other countries??

Same old "song and dance"

I read something interesting today, emphasis on "interesting" so I'll just throw IT out there. Seems some people are purchasing ceramic space heaters that use electricity to offset some of the natural gas usage. Made sense to me, but.............!

I'm still working on the but part, I could use some help
Thought I would help you out on the but part....In western Kansas most of your electricity comes from plants that use a natural gas-fired boiler to produce the steam to spin the turbine that gives us all the electricity that we love. As the cost of natural gas goes up so will your electric bill as the bill has an Energy Cost Adjustment (ECA). The ECA allows the electric company to pass along the higher cost of natural gas directely to the customer.

Clarification. Coal is the cheapest of the fossil fuels. Too bad some of it is capped.

It is probably a good thing that the local electric cooperatives bought Aquila, They have the only coal-fired plant in SW Kansas, and are in the works to build 3 more at their present location. However, 2 of them will be sending power to the western power grid to supply Colorado and beyond. Hopefully that will allow our electric bills to be a little cheaper, but only time will tell.
