I have to agree with you on this one Wordy, plus I love the new avatar. That being said. If a smoking ban really is that hard on a person maybe they need to reevaluate their habits?

Well hell, I know I should be on the patch. They are my habits and I enjoy them, who are you Dustin to tell me my habits are bad lol. You guys act like we are doing crack instead of just cigs. We are not criminals, instead of focusing on us smokers why not go out and arrest those people selling drugs to children. It's sad, hell arrest me now I am smoking a cig, oh no.

True Wordy. But when do you step in to save someone from killing themselves? Is it even our place to try to stop it?

Well I have never heard that before, I myself although I cannot speak for other smokers, don't believe that. So you are saying that since I smoke I may eventually move on to bigger, badder things. Now that is speculation.

No but if you can get addicted to cigarettes then it would be that much easier for you to become addicted stronger substances if tried.

The second hand smoke scare is much like the global warming scare. Sure man is contributing to global warming, but to the extent that matters? I highly doubt it. That vehicle exhaust we breath in every day is more likely to kill you than second hand smoke, but we don't care about that because we all drive.

What I see is that non-smoking businesses chief complaint, along with most anti-smoking types, is the "unfair competition." They flat out say they can't compete with businesses that allow smoking, so they want a "level playing field" by banning smoking at the other places. It should be hint enough that obviously people would rather do businesses with a place that doesn't regulate them. I know a lot of non-smokers that still would rather go to a smoking business.

In the end it's not about killing people with second hand smoke, it's about buying into the idea, so that we can be told what we can and can't do. The land of the free is quickly slipping away as we hand over our Rights.
