huh uh, Justoo, that's a Mini Cooper and they've been out for a while. I think what Poots is referring to are the itty-bitty cars - I think Mercedes has one out. But the Mercedes is priced fairly reasonably (considering it's a Mercedes) and it's road-legal for all intents and purposes.

There are others and they're just a tad hideous (they almost look like little bitty triangles - and not at all safe triangles!), but they are transportation and I care less and less about what my transportation looks like than how much it costs me in gas!

Here is the Smart Car. Lots of folks are driving them around here. I wouldn't mind having one but they have good safety ratings for everything but a rear end hit and I'm not sure I'll feel safe.

I sure wouldn't wanna follow anybody down that dirt road in one of those. You couldn't see at all! I dunno. I have to see some crash tests on it. Says it's safe - I just have a hard time believing it.

The ones I've seen look kind of like this

Only not square-backed.. it had the butt missing, kind of looked like a deformed truck, with a small truckbed and all that stuff. LOL

To me, the smart car is horribly overrated. The Europeans get the version that has an available turbodiesel that gets 70 mpg. We get a neutered 3 cylinder gas engine variety that barely gets better mileage than a Civic or Corolla and has half the capacity for about the same price. Yes, they are supposed to be safe, as they have a very strong cage structure. But I imagine anything over 40 mph would scramble your internal organs, as the car has no crumple zones to absorb the impact.
