Yes i went to Central School. And one of my favorites back then would have to be Mr. York.

Sacred Heart. I actually had 2 faves. Miss Parker, the 5th grade teacher and Sister Antonita - the 7th-8th Grade Teacher. Miss Parker because she was young and fun and Sister A because she expected and tolerated no less than your best. It was an important lesson at an important time.

I think Mr. York moved to Lincoln. I'm pretty sure I worked with them when I worked there.

I went to Sunnyside. It was a magical place to me. I loved that school and the teachers so much. I even made a little clay bust of Mr. Kinkaid the principal in the 1st grade because I loved him so much. The staff there really made me feel like they cared and made me feel so special.

I moved to Northwest in the 5th grade and then was on to the 6th grade center in the bottom of the Methodist Church. At Northwest I had Mrs. Schippers and she was amazing. She really inspired her students to write and to this day I attribute that love to her. She made words important. At the 6th grade center I had Mrs. Mitchell. She moved away soon after that year but she was a really great teacher. She made me want to try and do well for her as it always seemed she was trying hard for us.

At Sunnyside I couldn't pick a favorite teacher. I loved them.

Mrs. Nichols- She made me feel so smart. She was always so loving and encouraging. I still get excited when I see her around town and she still makes me feel special.

Mrs. York- She was amazing. I had a hard year this year and was very shy and scared and she took a scared little girl and found a way to help me not only move passed it but also succeed. She focused me in a direction that started my love of teaching.

Mrs. Mock- She loved her students so much and really made school fun. When I graduated High School she sent me a very special card that also held a strip of my 2nd grade photo. She did this for all of the students she could find. So many years later and she still really cared.

Mrs. Claussen-She was TOUGH but she taught me responsibility for mysel and taught me that when I make a mistake, I needed to take the consequences and deal with it.

Mrs. Mitchell- She made sure I was never bored. I could have easily just floated through this year but she didn't let me. She pushed me to do more than was expected.

I went to Lincoln, I would have to say my favorite teachers were Mr. Woofter 5th grade, and Mrs. Webster 4th grade! They were/are positive people and it still shows! They had a huge impact on their students! It has been SEVERAL years since I was in 4th and 5th grade, but they still remember me, and will make conversation!

I went to Sacred Heart. It's amazing how hot that school got towards the end of the school year! Thank God they are finally going to put AC in! The most inspirational teacher I had while I was there was my second grade teacher, Mrs. Schuette. I believe she still teaches there. She expected the best from each of her pupils, and knew how to bring it out of them.

In looking back, I agree with KC. While I only had one nun as a teacher, the nuns who were the principals were what made SHS what it was. The nuns' attitude was one of the school's best attribute. Without them now, the school has lost it's place. We need them back.

    KC Muffie

    Muffie!

I must have been in the same class with you.....Miss Parker was a fun teacher. But you sure missed the boat with Sr. Antonella.....She and her 2x4 yardstick still scares me in my dreams. 'Course if I had been a model student I may have not met Mr. Yardstick so much!!!!

    Sr. Hennrietta was cool.

Lincoln School, and the only teacher that comes to mind was Mrs Munger. I do remember Mr Ham, the Principal, quite well.

The AC thing has been a "beast", Thanks to one CITY INSPECTOR! If not for him, it would be in and running by now!

My best memories of Sacred Heart were with Monsignor George Hussman. He was the pastor there when my kids went there to school.
