I have to say my honeymoon to San Antonio for a week was the best vacation I ever had. It was totally relaxing, had no concrete plans, and it was a time for me and the new wife just to get away from the world. We ate one night at a steakhouse on the Riverwalk, I think the name was something like "Lil Rhein Steakhouse". Neither of us had been to an upscale place like that, so we wanted to try it, regardless of cost. I should have known something was up when the waiter bragged about their steaks being the finest, "straight from southwest Kansas!" We each had a steak (modest size, and it was cooked very well, but could have gotten the same here), split a side dish, split a large piece of chocolate cake (wife says it was the best thing on the honeymoon, which sorta offends me....) and had pop to drink. We walked out of there paying, with tip, about $125. The experience was worth it, but the food wasnt!

Now, I am with three kids, 2 car payments, a house payment...I am thinking the next vacation we get will be to Presto in Cimarron to get a drink then head back...course, only gonna do that if gas prices get below $3 a gallon!

My husband and I, along with 20 couples from Dodge City and Kansas City, went on a cruise in March to Cozumel, the Grand Cayman and Jamaica.

We took a submarine ride to the coral reefs in Cozumel, went to a sea turtle farm in the Grand Caymen, and rafted down the Martha Brae River in Jamaica.

    It was absolutely fabulous!

Hey JayMom, gotta watch those "submarine rides"! ;) Of course, if you go to Jamaica first, you kind of just "breeze" through the rest of the trip; as long as the ship has an ice cream stand! :D:wasted:
