Too bad he's not alive any longer to see what really happened. I'm guessing this was done in 1954 - he must be atleast 50 - so I'm guessing he's gone by now. Interesting post!!

Man oh man----that looks like the steering wheel from my grandfather's Edsel(See how many here even know what the heck an Edsel is?). I really think I could use a steering wheel on this PC of mine. It might not get me anywhere, but I could sure use it to take out some of my pent up frustrations.

Thanks for sharing.

The movie with K Hepburn and Spencer? Spencer is sent to her company to elvaluate what the research dept does and brings in the big puter on Christmas party day? Then the puter blows up??? I remember and love that movie - but didn't think it was called desk set. But then I can't keep all the movie names straight..........

I do know what an Edsil is, was, was supposed to be, I just love that era - life was so simple. Gimme a broom, a dress, and some pearls - I'd take that over the hustle/hassel/hell we have now.

Question to all: "What was the most unique feature in some Edsel steering wheels?"

IIRC, they abandoned it in later models.... prolly was problem prone... and too foreign a concept. That's where the horn button belonged!!

Today's steering wheel is feature packed.
