| I'd tell ya, but you'd wash my mouth out with soap. There is a jewelry retailer up here whose best line to women customers is to buy jewelry that makes them happy because the men won't get it right. She does a fair amount of business! Got 4 stores now!

| I don't like those people either - the ones that take money from the family budget for baubles. But if you aren't strapped and somebody's gonna give you an expensive gift, diamonds are one thing that will appreciate in value and can be passed down through the generations. Unlike, say, another blouse or teapot. Brothers and sisters and I used to all exchange gifts. We've all scattered to the ends of the earth now - there are 7 of us. We pool what we would have otherwise spent on Xmas for each other and write a check to the grade school that educated all of us for their library fund. Probably infinitely more useful there.

| Used for something else???? Like a skill saw?????..........I'd be cuttin brake lines. I never disliked a man so much that I gave back the jewlery (a Gabor)....that's my motto and I'm stickin with it........bring on the BLING!!!

| Why is it that Diamonds get the price they do as precious stones, when I heard that a ruby is more scarce than a diamond, but a diamond costs much more than a ruby? |

| because of the marketing that makes people believe they have to get a diamond as proof of love. Or as an apology for doin her sister.
