Direct TV

I have been thinking about switching from Cox to Direct TV. Who on the board has DTV and how does is work out for you. What will I expect and is it better than Cox. Let me know please!!!!

Do the prices rise after having it for awhile like Cox's does, or are they still decent. How much a month do you pay for your services?

Who is your internet provider? Do you have a cable modem with Cox?

ATT is my internet provider. DTV provides internet as well.

Personally, I would not reccomend the DTV Internet services.

As far as the price rising. Mine has stayed the same for a long time.

As with anything, prices rise.

I agree. When I checked prices a couple years ago internet from DTV was the most expensive way to go.

I have DTV and like it. My rule of thumb is if you get TV over a dish your best internet choice is a DSL service. Probably a package with your local phone service as opposed to buying a DSL line and using a different internet provider. If you want cable internet they will charge extra if you don’t take the TV package.

If I had cable I would look at putting everything on the cable. Internet, TV and phone service. If you prefer phone service from a cell phone, then cable makes sense. There are so many combinations that vary from one location to another that you really need to look at your options and see what works for you.

No I am keeping my internet services. I just am asking about DTV. Should I get it or not?

We have had DirecTV for about 10 years. Yes, the prices go up with inflation, but not after a short period of time. There was a flyer in today's Wichita Eagle that discusses their service, and the freebies available at this time. We have been pleased with DirecTV thus far. I imagine I'll have to check with them in the near future, when there are more HD channels and we have a HD Tv.

I have had DTV for over 5 years now both in Dodge and in Denver and I always have had the full "premium" package with 4 receivers. I recently upgraded to the HD package and my bill is about $110-125 a month plus any pay per view movies or sports events I order. The service does go out when it rains big time or when it snows and it accumulates on the dish ( you have to go out and knock the snow off) but I have been very satisfied with the service. I have it bundled with my Qwest phone service and it saves me about $20 a month.
