Very little makes me cringe, but that did! Geezley crow that looks painful. Hope it heals well for you. It is amazing what they can do medically these days!

You're a stronger person than I would ever be. I couldn't stand an open wound than had to be sucked out every day. I don't know how you can look at it. It's painful to me.....and I don't have to go through what you're going through. Keep us in the loop! We care!

I first noticed it on a Thurs night/Fri morn. On Sun night about 3:00am i had a fever and couldn't sleep and leg hurt so I went to ER, they did blood work and gave antibiotics and a prescription and sent me home. Tues morning was in quite a bit of pain and new soething wasn't right so went back to ER, that is when Dr. found it was necrotizing fasciitis, and sent me to Wichita. It is still an open wound, with a wound-vac on it. It is like saran wrap kinda stuff that they hook a vacuum pump to after filling the wound with a foam dressing that compresses and closes when the pump is turned on.

Mercy, even scarier than reading about it. Lot of muscle and tissue damage? How long from initial prob until you realized something much worse was going on? From your posts it would seem to me your Dr. was on top of this quick.
