If anyone wants to get the election results once they are posted go here: http://www.fordcounty.net/list.aspx then put in your phone number (for text) or email address to get an alert once they are posted. Be sure and select ELECTION RESULTS.

I will also post them here once I get them.

This is actually a HUGE win for challengers and a big loss for the incumbents. Here is why... Let's do the math....There were 3 incumbents and 15 challengers. There were a total of 1900 votes cast for the incumbents. All got In. There were 5837 votes cast for non incumbents. Now that the challenger field has been narrowed from 15 to 5, that means on average, the challengers should get 1667 votes each to the incumbents average of 633 each, based on this primary turnout. That means a big win in November for challengers. In aggregate, the challengers actually received 2.6 as many votes as the incumbents...it was just spread out among too many challengers. Those votes are going to be concentrated in November favoring the challengers over the incumbents.

In other words, the challengers should do about 3 times as good in the general as they did in the primary now that the field has been narrowed to a third of challengers but the incumbent field remains the same. Morris Reeves received the lowest amount of votes. He should be the most nervous of them all, especially with the boost the challengers will get in the general.

As with most election results in this small pond, they have little to do with who's most qualified, best ideas, integrity and transparency and, right or wrong, everthing to do with name recognition.

Maybe we are looking at different results. The top 3 vote getters were a part of the "vote for us" block, Conant, Harshberger and Ramsour. The "challengers" best finisher was 4th. There are only 4 elected in November. Why do you think the "challengers" would suddenly flip the results of the primary? You are assuming all of the "wasted" votes will go towards the "challengers."
