Since they don't seem to like to use the arena too much for ice skating cos of the ice.. why not make it to where you can roller skate? Roller Derbies seem to be highly popular.. what better way to get a work out, let go of some aggression and make friends with the crew at work than have a dozen or so grouped up and pounding the crap outta other people!!!!!

Well in pretty tired of just Mexican bands coming to perform!I mean i love some Mexican music but that's all we get and country prince royce was gonna perform but he ended up wanting all kinds of special things provided if he came. Can't we get rappers or a little main stream acts I wrote nicki minaj on Facebook telling her about the arena and she said she would love to check up on it!!! But who knows wish there was more to do in dodge :(

Have you ever been to a real concert? We don't have the seating it would take to get big bands in here. The Aerosmith concert we went to had about 20,000 people at it. (That was SO much fun!)

We also don't have the population to get in big acts. Promoters want to make money, they don't to that by spending big bucks getting in a big name, and only selling 3-4000 tickets. Last concert I went to, sold 55000 tickets. Hell of a good concert. But you'll never get anything that big in the tri-city area. They'll continue to bring in what sells, Country, Mexican and Christian.

Maybe we could have something like Dodgestock LOL. Find a big empty field, get a bunch of great bands and have a 3 day concert in the corn.

remember when we were told we wouldn't have any entertainment at the SEC because summer was the "off season"? well, seems to be an ongoing "off season" to the present and into the future. the SEC management is a joke. i understand that we can't get big acts here, but there certainly should be more to offer than a willie nelson concert or bill cosby--and on a regular basis.
we paid what, 2 million extra or more to have the ice and its down for only a couple months? more skates? lessons? ice skating competitions? longer hockey season? market the darn thing!!!!! there are lots of possibilities with the ice alone. what a disappointment it has been to this point--but yet, we can hold local basketball games there. big whoop.

DCCC plays at the SEC? I wonder how much the college gets charged to play their games there?

DCCC formerly played their games at the Civic Center. Not too many people attend DCCC games and I wonder if the premium paid for the SEC use is worth it. Civic Center should be good enough considering it is the college.

Plus, the Civic Center has character that the SEC does not.

Anyone heard of Bellator Fighting Tournament. They are a MMA fighting tournament that frequent allot of casinos. I think it would be a good draw for the SEC. Can we put the event planner on this? :D

Well, keep in mind if it is prize fighting, back in 2002, the tough man competition held by Mike Keitel at the Civic Center was abruptly shut down without notice by the county attorney at the time and police where on hand to make sure this contest would not come to be. Depite the tough man being held previous years without incident.

Seems there is an ubscure law against prize fighting so if this MMA contest involves any kind of prize money for the competitors, expect DCDP to be in force shutting down the casino prize fights.

Then again, if it is held at the casino, I am sure the non-representatives in charge will make sure this law is ignored like so many others.
