Like I said....Money that they don't have! Look at your property taxes, mine went up $60, while most everything that uses our taxes lowered their mill levy rate, USD 443 raised their mill levy rate. Enough to take away what everything else lowered and still get more money out of our pockets.

In other business, the USD 443 Board of Education:
Approved the purchase of two nine passenger vehicles for the transportation department and three trucks. The clerk of the board issued purchase orders to G & G Inc. for $58,817 for two trucks and $89,650 to Magouirk Chevrolet for two SUVs and one truck.

What are these? Cadillac's or something? I don't begrudge them the equipment, but 60K seems awfully pricey for 2 trucks, and 90K awful pricey for 2 SUV's and a truck. They must be brand spanking new, top of the range models.

Have you priced vehicles lately? 30K for a full size truck or SUV isn't bad at all. Any full size, non-heavy duty truck can be equipped to be over $45k. And Cadillac SUVs? They can top out at almost $90k.

The cheapest new Suburban on Magouirk's web site is $51k and change, and I would assume that Suburbans are the SUVs they are buying. So, I think they are getting a pretty good deal!

Yup that seems like a lot of money, but, it's really not that bad. Heck my pickup was $33,000 back in 2007.

I think a lot of people missed the white elephant...

Approved contracting with Gilmore and Bell for bond counsel for the Soule Intermediate project for a base fee of 23,500.

Bond counsel is normally a prelude to a bond referendum. Here we go again.

Weren't we told that the project would be funded with capital outlay funds?

443 has already maxed out it's bond authority. This means another bond vote.
