    A bone to pick.

While most of you dont care much what I have to say. I have a bone to pick with the Dodge City Police Department. A friend of mine was arrested tonight about 20 minutes ago for a "crime" that he had no involvement in. He is on probation for a completely seprate charge and has never had a falure to appear. while some of his family has a record and have been wrongly accused many times it leads me to wonder is this a case of mistaken ID or another wrong arrest. He dose have an anklet on and is allowed to go to certain places untill his curfew. While at the mall (one of the allowed places) and the person he was with was punched. While trying to seperate the two he was struck several times he did as anyone one whould do and stuck back. Whould this be called "Battery" or self deffence because even on pro. I whould defend myself.

If I was in his position? I would stay as far away as possible from any action that would look negative upon me. Arrested and charged? Probably not, but we don't have the full story. Did he fight back and run? And honestly, if his intentions were really for the better, why did he hit back? If I go break up a fight and then get a few whacks for my trouble, I would just step back and let them have at each other.

The facts and circumstances known to the officer's at the time led them to feel it was mutual combat and each person had a battery charge. Let's see though, your buddy is on probation, wears and ankle bracelet hmmmmmmm not a far stretch. Ya might want to pick a different bone!

It's kind of a bad idea for anybody with justice jewelry to be in the middle of a fight. No matter whether he's right or wrong. First impressions will get him arrested every time. What did he do to get the bling on his ankle anyway? That might be your answer right there. And were any weapons besides fists used? Like brass knuckles? That's usually frowned upon, too. What's happening to the mall? Is it becoming a hangout for losers?

He sounds like a saint! How DARE the DCPD be in any way suspicious about him and his activities.

If you put yourself into a bad situation, you only have yourself to blame when bad things happen.

    You "whould" defend yourself.

I was under the impression that DCPD did an exhaustive investigation before making an arrest.
