I didn't mean to imply that DC is full of bad cops, in fact I would say that most, if not all that are here now are good. I have no complaints myself, and I applaud you for doing the job that you do with the salary that you get paid.

NoLongerinRadioGuy, I did go to the chief and NOTHING happened there was a internal investigation but I didn't hear anything.

I was in the lovely dirty jail for 6 hours total, the jailer came to search me 4 hours after I was there. I was there for Disorderly Conduct Nothing Else. I had a dress on for god's sakes. No Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt or anyone else should be done that way. You are to search if there is reasonable cause. I listen to the scanner and they do call female officers to the facility when they need to search. The officers that did everything when I entered even left the room when I had to go to the bathroom. I'm telling you this was someone getting his kicks. To Dum to be anything but a key operator but taking advantage of those there.

If an internal investigation was done, and you say nothing happened from it then the officer was probably exonerated of any wrong doing. Whether you agree with it or not, and I wouldnt expect you to, since you are the one that was making the accusations.

As far as the jail incident goes - I cant really say much as they are county employees, not city. Did you file a complaint with the sheriff's office about this situation? And you might listen to your scanner 24/7, but female officers are not usually called to search female prisoners. If a female officer is available, sure, that is preferable. But I can tell you as of right now, there are no female officers on regular street duty for DCPD. I dont like searching females incident to arrest, and most of us dont. But I will put up with the few seconds of uncomfortableness to make sure I am not missing a weapon or something else.

Bottom line...anywhere you go, there are good and bad people. Life is just like that. But you can be sure I do not know of any cops on our force that plant evidence, use force unnecessarily, or intentionally go into situations looking to treat someone unfairly. If you encounter one, I suggest you go to the Chief or any other Admin with the PD and request the incident be looked into. If we do have bad cops, us good ones would rather have them pointed out and dealt with than have to work side by side with them.

Well said NLIRG. Before moving to Colorado I worked along side the DCPD Officers and FOSO Deputies and Jailers. (I worked with Juvenile Offenders and Children in Need of Care for over 4 years.) In my history these groups of individuals were very professional. Yes, some have come and gone for various reasons. In my opinion the ones that have gone for disciplinary actions were dismissed within reason. Nothing was over looked when there was something to “look” at.

It is just too bad that so many “complainers” become part of the problem instead of the solution.
