| sounds one-sided to me okay, first of all, your grammar and your spelling are horrific! Secondly, I've met Officer Schraeder (you spelled his name wrong too) and he has been nothing but helpful whenever I've run into him. Now, if you are following a vehicle that is throwing rocks, common sense tells you to a) STAY BACK!! and b) don't follow the vehicle, period. Now, as for "Officer Mosely" it is Lieutenant Mosier, I believe. You might want to check the name and rank when referring to an officer of the law, it is the polite thing to do y'know and you do seem to claim you know about being polite and helpful. Just about ANY truck that is hauling gravel, equipment, lumber, etc... they usually have a sign on their back end that says "Not responsible for damage" or "stay back 500 ft." Even if the truck didn't have any of these, it is only COMMON SENSE to stay back. How many times do you have to have your car hit before you get the point? I don't believe that you were following the truck "for the good of others" either b/c I don't think there are people out there that would be willing to get their vehicle beat up for the sake of others. If your vehicle is THAT special, then I suggest you don't turn around and follow a dump truck that you knew was throwing debris. Also, I have been in a similar situation in which my windshield was broken b/c I was following too close and I was told it is called a "Road Hazard" and there's nothing any law enforcement can do about it b/c it's pretty much common sense not to follow that closely to something that is throwing debris. Sometimes, unfortunately, vehicles throw things and that is unavoidable but again, it's called a "Road Hazard." It sounds like your story is very one-sided and I refuse to believe that Officer Schraeder would behave in such a manner, providing he knew the FULL story. Even on his worst day, I've always known him to be fair. Lastly, I believe that "Shawn" is the female spelling and "Sean" is the male spelling. The bottom line is, your issue should be w/JAG for not following the rules, not Officer Schraeder. This happens all the time and I know very few people who are successful in suing over this, as it is a ROAD HAZARD. Not that JAG should be excused but take it up w/them and not the boys in blue. |

| Sounds to me like the truck driver was operating his vehicle in a negligent manner. In that case it's got nothing to do with a road hazard and everything to do with responsibility of the company and the driver. Since the cop in question wasn’t going to leave the Krispy Kremes long enough to do his job and since his pay comes from our taxes it seems like he could have explained himself. As far as rank and names go, shouldn’t it be “deputy” donuteater when referring to members of the SO and not officer? And for your edification… SHAWN (Male - Celtic/Gaelic) From the name JOHN SEAN (Unisex - Celtic/Gaelic) God is Gracious Way to make yourself out to be a prick on your first post.

| tdj - I take it you're an officer in blue. An' that's OK, but around here, it's not unusual to find a misspelling or two - heck, we even turn the English language around to suit our purpose. Don't be too hard on Tee. I'm not sure, but I think the gist of Tee's story is that he DID NOTHING WRONG - the mother lovin' truck passed him. Prolly at a higher-than-safe speed. True, he prolly (eek - my spelling!) should have kept his distance while he was following it, but if it would have happened to me or a hundred others, we wouldn't have wanted to have lost this idiot. You're right, of course. It is JAG's problem to fix, but why have a law on the books about covering a load if the officers called to the scene aren't going to try and enforce it? So that means that Coffin can thumb his pudgy little nose at whatever laws he sees fit - and let the insurance carriers fight it out with the claimant. Nice way to do business. Real nice. An, wow! looks like Tex and Wordy beat me to the punch. They hadn't posted yet when I started my rant. Good goin'!! ya know, I was finished and then I got fired up again! I hate when that happens. Road hazard??? Sprayed with rocks from a passing vehicle? Being in the insurance business, I can tell you truckers are responsible for the 'road hazards' they kick up. Flyin' rocks - everything. If a truck in front of me throws a rock up in my windshield and I get his tag number, he's buyin' me a new one. The insurance carriers will pay for them. The reason they do it with no questions asked is because part of the underwriting is seeing whether or not the damned loads are tarped. If they're not and they're breaking windshields and scraping paint off cars, then JAG suddenly is paying a bunch more for their insurance. Not only for Tee's sake, but for their own bottom line, they ought to see if they can't talk their illegals into tarping the loads for them.

Hitting the return key is free and simple to use AND I've given more attention to posters who freely use it. Now lemme see if I figger'd your thoughts.... It isn't the SO's job to respond to county situations until (someone) authorizes a response. Is that right...? OH & btw, have you ever had a run-on with the English Police?

| WOW - people do not EVEN know what they are talking about. Sounds like tdjohnson and Grace are buddies.... this is a PM I received.... <TABLE class=tborder id=post cellSpacing=1 cellPadding=6 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=alt2 style="PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px"><TABLE cellSpacing=6 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD noWrap>grace Junior Member </TD><TD width="100%"></TD><TD vAlign=top noWrap>Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 0 Rep Power: 0 ![]() </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><!-- / user info --></TD></TR><TR><TD class=alt1 id=td_post_><!-- message, attachments, sig --><!-- icon and title --> <HR style="COLOR: #ffffff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Tee, I'm disappointed in you. I know that people get on here and sling mud without knowing the whole story, or they only put their twist on things. If you are going to pull someone through the mud, please put the whole story on there and get your information correct. LIEUTENANT MOSHER didn't come here from Garden City - he is stationed in Dodge City. I won't go any further with your misinformation. I have heard stories about some of your family members and wouldn't think of putting that information on here for the world to see. I have noticed that your windshield is fixed, which you have failed to mention in your posts, and you also failed to mention that the issue of the windshield being fixed was taken care of that same day by the deputy in question. I understand your disappointment in not getting your way - it sounds to me like it was a misunderstanding in the beginning and you made a mountain out of a molehill. I would appreciate seeing this kind of stuff on here - the one-sided slamming - end! Please respond to me directly if you wish. Thank you. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE> I'll respond to you out in the open, thank you. I couldn't care less if YOU are disappointed in ME. I don't even know you!! Why would I care if my posts please you? Seems a couple people have the facts wrong... I was not following the truck. I was westbound, the truck was eastbound. It showered me with rocks as we crossed paths. How was I to know that an approaching vehicle was loosing it's load until after we crossed paths? I only followed the truck (at a distance) ao as to alert police and get him to pay for the damages. Would you not follow a vehicle that damaged your vehicle? Hauling gravel without securing your cover is NOT ROAD HAZARD- It is plain NEGLIGENCE! And doing so when the wind is blowing at gusts up to 50 mph is just STUPID! Are you so blinded by your bias that you cannot admit that? And I am sorry that I spelled the officers name wrong. There is about 10 different ways to spell Schrader and I didn't stop to ask the officer on the phone which method he subscribed to. Did I say that the officer came from Garden City?? Hmmm I thought I said that I called the Garden City Hyway Patrol and they dispatched an officer??? Do they have a dispatch for Hyway patrol in Dodge?? No, I think you have to call Garden as that is where the closest HQ is. According to another poster, you Grace also spelled Mosher incorrectly. Maybe you should learn how to spell your own name. It's Grace, not grace - get it right!! I didn't know the officers rank that is why I used the term "officer. Is it not correct to address officers of the law whom you know not their rank as "Officer". No the windsheild is STILL NOT FIXED- wrong again!! And since when do deputys fix windshields? That was a strange statement. With exception of the spelling which you also mispelled, everything else you said was totally WRONG!! Geez people, way to get off track and deflect from the whole issue. Looks like some people have attempted to come to the officers rescue by nitpicking at the facts for which they know nothing about and semantics of spelling and grammar. Nice try!

| Can you say veiled threat? "I have heard stories about some of your family members and wouldn't think of putting that information on here for the world to see. " I smell some chickenshit getting spread.

| I wasn't writing a college thesis. I think I got my point accross just fine. It sure got you fired up. I think those two are buddies with Sean or Shawn (you know who I am talking about) and they have made a very bad attempt at coming to his defense. Both of them have totally misunderstood how the incident occurred and neither of them directly responded to or offered any reason for the officers actions. As far as Mosier, I think he did a fine job. I have said nothing bad about him. Regardless of the spelling of proper names, you both know to whom I am referring. I said it before and I will say it again, I have always been cool with Sean and him with me. That is why I was so disappointed with what happened. It bothers me to think the lack of response from the SO was due to the other party's political stance in this county. As a community, we should be sharing our experiences with each other when situations like this arise. How else are we to identify a problem and address it? Would you rather live in a world where whistleblowers and concerned citizens fearful of reprisal do not share/report negative experiences about their leaders/officials just because their buddies and cohorts try and retaliate? I think I was being quite reasonable. I just shared the FACTS. I didn't file a formal complaint, but now I am thinking maybe I should have. Hell maybe I might have to do that tomorrow...

as far as pickin' posts apart for spelling and grammar, when did it become correct to write an entire message in only one paragraph. I was always taught to split thoughts into separate paragraphs to make it easier to read......
