That's just what I was thinking. How can they have the authority to give a parking ticket on a private parking lot, but not have the authority to give a ticket to somebody violating the driving law on a private parking lot. ![]()

| I'm in for $20 - that whole thing just sucks! They did the same thing to my sis at the mall. They ticketed her at the mall in an old handicapp space that was no longer a handicap space. She actually got a ticket for bein in the space WITH a sticker. The officer said - there were handicap spaces available and she shoulda been in one......... what a trip!! They threw that out but it probably added 10 yrs to my sis just out of frustration! Not everyone is fair and just...... that's why there are cops to begin with. It is downright wrong when an officer does this kinda stuff. There are all kinds - just be greatfull the whole force isn't like that and overall that's not how cops are. The accident thing is even worse when it comes to situations. Hell I'd be callin CPS, police chief, and small claims court! They may very well only be limited to making reports for accidents - it seems they can not say who is at fault in a parking lot but the obvious violations don't seem to be excused by that same thinkin. No car seat is no car seat - 14 is 14 - don't matter where it is..... perhaps it's cuase the officer didn't actually see it and by the time they got there both parents were on the scene - so it became a he said - she said. Cops don't like to get in that mess and we shouldn't expect them to. That's what no fault is..........they are for enforcing the law when they see or witness someone breaking the law. They are not there to take sides - one way orthe other. Sad story tho - just kinda ticks ya off!

| [quote=Jolly Rancher] I think of several tickets: 1. No Driver's License 2. Improper backing 3. No child restraint 4. Endangerment of a child (both to the 14 year old and the 3 year old) 5. Driving restrictions (even if the girl had a license, she is not allowed to drive without a licensed driver until she is 16, and the mother let the officer assume that the child was driving, but the parent was in the vehicle). 6. Child neglect (on the parent who sent her daughter to the store). I am told by the police that it is correct that they can not ticket the girl. I don't know yet if the other parties had insurance. I have not yet received the report. It seems to me that the officer on the scene had the responsibility to ticket the child driver for no license (or driving without supervision), unrestrained child, and possibly no insurance. These are ticketable offenses whenever an officer reveals this.

| OK, right….. We have a BroncoFan and a Bronco-Fan. Not the same person. I’m not seeing things. I'm OK, really I am. (I think a stiff drink is in order.)
