This is my response from Terry Lee to my email...
"thanks for writing me ref this. Yours was not the only letter I received on it. If the judge actually told him to just pay it, that was very unprofessional.
My first impression of this is much the same as yours. I do realize that every story has two sides, but I would think that if it is obvious to all concerned that the poor man is disabled, it should simply be dismissed. I will do some checking on it for you but several suggestions come to mind: see if you can get an attorney for him for free (some WILL do that if they believe in the cause), see if the officer himself will dismiss it, or simply appear himself and plead not guilty. If found guilty, it CAN be appealed to District Court (I believe within ten days). Perhaps there he would get a better shake and make a point with the city. I know that government officials at all levels sometimes get a holier-than-thou attitude and just need to be stood up to occasionally. Thanks for writing. Your friend has my best wishes for recovery. That has to be a tough road to navigate.

The beat officer should be patrolling Walmart once in a while. But, since we are short handed, it probably isnt beig done as often as it should. I will pass on this concern to my shift and others to step up the patrol around there.

Well I know you are a stand up guy!! Ya know you are already on my A list based on bein in the brotherhood. I view ya as one of my own - love ya like a son without tradin much info. Ya have never failed to be anything but honest and straightforward. We all know sometimes the truth hurts but it's the truth still the same. I always tell folks - I'll do anything for ya cept lie...... course I gotta admit I might have to reshape the story for a sista or two!!

In addition may I say Bubba as always just takes the bull by the horns....... like any Bubba should. I'm impressed with all responses....... especially Terry Lee's. I hereby make a public apology for things I said during his finincial strife. Apparently his heart perhaps maybe in a good place -

overall I think the wheels are turnin and the guy with the ticket can probably thank Bubba for bull wrestlin and NLIR for his insight at the shift meetings. In the future tho he might want to tie his card onto the mirror - just so he actually does follow the rules - ya only get so many free passes before it becomes your responsibility to just "do the right thing" I wish the guy luck and still offer up my $20 when needed.

Thanks for all the nice comments! I know not all laws are totally fair, but I did take an oath to enforce them, and that is what I will do. Educating people why we do things in certain ways hopefully makes people see we are human and just doing our jobs. Too many people only have contact with cops when they are at their lowest - either reporting a crime against them or making a mistake themselves. I actually care about my community and things that happen to the people in it - I just bought a house, starting a family, and I want Dodge to be the best it can be. If I can make a small difference by posting on here and showing cops are usually good people, then I am happy.

NLIRG: I didn't want you to think I was bad-talking the cops. I think our justice system needs tweaked. Like the title of this thread states: Is there any Justice? I just gave my situation. I have worked with many cops, deputies, judges, attorneys. I know the system. I think it is unfair. A felon (any felony) can get 5 yers for possession of a gun. Then a judge will order 24 months probation for someone raping a child. Dont get me wrong. Its not the cops fault. I never said I was angry at the cop at the scene. I said I questioned
