Growing concerns for the resent gang activity

I woulda tanned my kids hide had he been foolish enough to let another kid mess with his bike before askin me if it was ok. Hope your kid has learned he is responsible for lettin some jerk off ruin his stuff. Bet next time he learns to work on his own bike. Course new bikes don't need work so that's just doubly insulting............

Yep, have all the lights in the world on my property. Doesn't stop the tagging though.... just gives them better light to see their work!! That is ok though, I have enough paint.... I try my best to get it cleaned up the next morning...

The flyers are a good idea, but I don't feel that is my whole duty. Plus, I have no "authority" to verify the information that I hear on the scanner. What I hear isn't ALL the information. I know there is information shared behind the scenes. Which is fine, I don't know if I want to hear all the details on every case.

I know all of my neighbors, we talk quite often. We look out for each other and each other's property, especially when one of us are able to get away for the weekend. Believe me, we have done as much as possible for ourselves, except maybe armed squads touring the neighborhood. The crossfire is what I worry about.

I am actually talking about other neighborhoods. If they want adults to take care of business and be on the look out, then they need to know that the activity is hightened right now, that is all I am asking for.

PS... Monster.... so sorry to hear about the loss of the bike.... I am like TexKan, my kid's ass would have whooped!!!

With our lights and the no tresspassing signs the law (after sundown law) and our reputation and the fact that the kids are cops...... they know we are crazy as hell - they know the cruisers would not be able to get to em before our 357's........ anywhoooooo post some signs just in case some day you are lookin at court - don't wanna have anyone say you didn't warn em. In Texas (don't know bout Ks) if you have purple stripes (vertical) on your trees or in your lawn - that's a universal NO trespassing sign. I'm not responsible for if the read english or ebonics or sign language. - so long as we got our CYA - then I let the situation take me where it needs to go. Main thing is to not act scared even if ya are - never let em smell blood...............good luck!

I went to his house to talk to the parents about it. Calmly and carefully I explained what had happened, what had been said and asked the father what he thought was the best course of action. What did the father say to me? "It's just kids messing around".

Great. So now I have 50 bucks down the drain, a kid with no bike and a load of scrap metal in my back yard.

Monster, if I was there local I’d tell you to bring it over where I have my tools and try to help you put it together. Maybe someone here on the board that’s closer will step up and give you a hand.

Awww....that's too bad, I would have made hubby fix it for ya. He's good at that stuff. About that gang activity...I never knew Dodge was that bad, then again I live basically in the country here on Ave. P. There is a huge field in front of our house including the city limit and behind our house, someone has a horse field so I don't hear anything in the town. I love it though. I could run around in this field naked and not worry about a gang rape....then again I have done that once (dont tell the cops). The only thing I really have to worry about out here is that every once in a while, I get a little snake in the house, or a tarantula on the porch (NO JOKES!). You guys can move in with us if you wanna! No gangs, naked field running, and I do need someone to help me kill the spiders because I am an arachnaphobic!!!!
