I had heard by reading and around about the officer that was being tried because her partner (K9) bit an illegal - apparently she has been tried 2 times and convicted the 2nd. This is a local paper that I never miss and it chronicles the events surrounding this officer - If I remember correctly she was on 60 min or 20/20 or dateline...... I know I saw something on the TV. I just wanted to share this as a reminder what an officer (good or bad) has to deal with. I know there are lots of professions that carry great risk but this story just stuck with me for some reason.

I couldn't just get the story so I have included the paper - it's the Travesty of Justice story on the front page.............

That is totally a bunch of BULL$HIT, Texie!!! I hear that we are going to supply the WETBACKS with GPS devices now, so they don't get lost and die in the desert!!

I heard that was where some of your tax $$ (grants) are goin..... problem is tho that they feel that illegals won't come forward to get them. Price of GPS's are gonna go way down! They will be sellin the goverment surplus at the flea market soon!....... yeah I just thought this was a sad story and a very good commentary on the ""pro" side. The piece on the TV left ya wonderin if she did it on purpose cause there had been complaints prior to this event. The TV didn't exactly shed too much light on how these complaints surfaced - they did altho tell of all her accolades and awards but left ya thinkin that for some strange reason this chick decided on night to become a badge bunny rather than the officer that some think she is........ I think the fact the the police unions don't step up for her speaks volumes and it doesn't speak on the behalf of the unions. They have been known to sell a cop out quicker than the criminal! Sad - just sad! I know it's a long article but a worthy one I thought.

Additionally - I went to school with Debbie Ackerman - the story on the other side of the front page. We used to ski together....... that murder was the beginning of the decline of "safe" on Galveston Island...... that was real sad as well!

That is just wrong!! It just doesn't even make sense how we can live like this in today's society. And he is right, we do have hundreds of thousands of US troops stationed EVERYWHERE fighting for other countries freedoms and crimes committed there and to see this happen on US soil is sickening.

I do hope that justice will be served in this case and that officer will be released with a big fat apology and a big fat check so she can send her son to a great college where he will fight to do the right thing for US citizens across this nation!!

Well it's contriversial to say the least. Not everyone gets all the facts - 2 stories - two tales............ you have to choose who you believe........ Me??? I'm not sure (would never be a good jury member) always a possiblity both could be right - truth looks different to all of us - kindal like the Border patrol agents that just got sentenced in Texas cause they shot a drug dealer from Mexico........ go figger!........... I err on the side of the law - most the time - this time ain't much different.
