I vote that if they screwed up once... they do not need a second and third and fourth chance. Especially when it comes to crimes against children! Put them away.. and throw away the key. You cant fix that.

Talk to the judges. We fight that all the time. They sympthize with the convicts (no money, no job, kids starving, wife problems). Yea, right!! Probation is a chance. If they f**k up, send them to jail/prison.

What about the mother's that continue to allow the molester in the home to molest again? Losers!! What about getting a child to testify? Not a chance. Some of these kids trust the molesters and have had it done for so long that they will refuse to testify against them.

I've seen drug users get worse sentences than this one!! You notice I say users and not dealers....pretty pathetic

Molestation cases don't support a whole industry like drug and alcohol cases do. Molestation cases are expensive to prosecute and even more expensive to incarcerate.

ReHab businesses promote tougher 'sentences' so'z they can make more money off of the offender's programs.

They make more money off the victims than they do the offecnder........... Offenders don't go thru 1/2 of what the victims do........... very rarely will you see an offenders family in therapy......... victims and thier families spend hours tryin to sort the mess out - sometimes.............. then there are times that victims and families spend more time advocating new laws, tougher sentencing, or fighting with the system over probation, going to hearings to stop parole, .......... hell it just seems to go on and on.

We were very lucky to be so well protected by our family ya had to get thru them to get to us. We were never alone enough for anyone to try anything. I'm sure we were around molesters - at some time - but no one ever messed with any on us kids.

It's sad but ya know I worry more bout my grandson in the yard than I did my own boyz.................. just a sick sick thing.

That last sentence stuck out like a sore thumb and I have something to say to that. Tex I hate to tell you but this has always been going on in the world. The only reason is looks as though it is happeneing more nowadays than before is because of the MEDIA. I remember when I was 12 or 13 and I had 20 year old mexican men trying to hit on me and get in my pants. It happened to my friends as well. I am not saying that it's only mexican men either it is white, black ect....But I am 38 now so do the math. In the old days they use to have sex with their own daughters all the time, so what is different? Not a damn thing! Just something I needed to get out.

I think society has made it more acceptable to be antisocial and deviate and it's considered an illness now. Back when my kids were growing up and when I was growing up folks that were different just kinda kept to themselves. Now they are celebrated and drug to social programs that are never gonna help them but the govt money sure gives the media plenty to report and gives folks another way to spend govt money. I understand what you are sayin but the world is still amuch different place than it was just 25 years ago.......... Nobody messed with us growin up but there was always wierdos livin somewhere in town. The cops I think could keep a closer eye on them then cause they didn't have the drug issue they have now to keep an eye on.......... it is different now days......... by far.............just how I see it..... also any man tryin to "get in our pants" as a kid would have to of dealt with my family......... whose favorite pastime was hell raisin........ nope no a chance that someone was gonna be stupid enough to mess with us.......

I think it’s because we’re being taught to accept any and all behavior as “OK” and it just ain’t politically correct to suspect someone different as possibly being bad. We can’t be judgmental and we’re not supposed to think in terms of good and evil.

Like you said TK, if someone messed with a kid back then family would deal with it and cops would likely look the other way. Now days you would be the aggressor against some poor, misunderstood victim of society.
