| Not once was I told anything about my wipers. I was told I was stopped for not having my headlights on. In fact my passenger asked if it was because I should have my lights on due to the fog, and she said yes. Nothing was said about having to have my lights on IF I have my wipers on. I guess if she would have told me that then they wouldn't be able to ticket me again for the same offense.

| I wouldn't pay it. Where there is any doubt....the courts, the cops, the system should err on the side of citizens There is a LOT of doubt here. The intermittent wipers, the streetlights, the time of day. Some offenses are based upon subjective opinions. For example: speeding "beyond safe and reasonable". This is one of them. A WARNING was what was warranted here.

| Tee - have you heard some of the stories the "citizens" spew out lately? The side the courts errrr on is never gonna change...................and it shouldn't - most honest people get an honest day in court - why would anyone ask for more?

| FACT----- At no time was wipers ever discussed until it showed up on this board. Some people have had time to read the threads, see the pictures, and come up with an appropriate response after the fact. FACT ---- She stopped him because of no headlights in the fog. I know becasue I asked her. And she responded "Yes, you have to have your headlights on in this fog". Visibility wasn't an issue, so he took pictures to show it wasn't. She never uttered a word about wipers EVER. NOW we hear about wipers. Yes I was deserving of a ticket for no seatbelt, but I am not going to say thanks for running out of tickets. Detector even said "Thank You" to her. Something I wouldn't have done. |

| Well!! There's the problem Zeb!! If you were with Dectector, that explains it! They were really picking on Detector because of you!! Dectector, the force is not like it was when people like your Dad was active. I gotta agree with you on the "courts" thingy! As for the DCPD, if the facts are as stated, I would think that anyone would deserve a warning. Also, some education of the public to this law should help! However, as in any profession, you have good workers, and poor workers. I am not saying that the officer you met was one of the poorer ones, but maybe she was having a bad day? Coulda been that time of the month?? Or, as I said above, probably because of ZEB-----I would have given you a ticket if I caught you hauling him around!! |
