| do you honestly think she reads this forum and even if she does do ya really think she stalked around just waiting for you? She probably had something else she coulda written for - and chose the lights cause it's not a moving violation. How would she know ya anyhow? PS - I am sorry ya got the ticket as well - I forgot to add that - I don't like to see anyone that normally is a safe driver get a ticket. I'm sure you are in that group - but it coulda been worse.

| Man, I feel for ya, Detector.... note about auto lights, no matter what, in fog, have your lights on. Just because the "car" says they are not needed, does NOT mean that humans can see you. The car just has the sensor of light and dark not of fog. Just beware. Again, sorry to hear that Detector. It does show you though how karma bites you sometimes. The Joker |

| I see people all the time with out thier lights on, when they should have them on. Just because they come on automatic, and they don't, doesn't mean they are not needed. What is up with people driving with just thier parklights on??? That drives me crazy. If lights are needed turn them on. Park lights are for when the car is parked. Isn't that why they are called parklights??? Did KS not pass a law that says if you have to turn on your windshield wipers, you have to turn on your lights? NOTE: NOT PARKLIGHTS I don't think the cop knew it was you. To find you and just give you a ticket for that, would be just nuts. |

| Down here where we have LOTS of fog - you drive with your parking lights (if it's daylight) cause the regular lights will not help you - you are not gonna see anybetter with lights in a fog - the fog deflects the lights and it blinds you or the oncomming car. Parking lights is what you run in a fog - if it's dark you keep your lights on low beam. Those Halagen lights are a bitch in the fog! They are great for night but a bitch when they hit ya in a fog!

| Parking lights Quote:
No I was just saying that people drive all the time with parklights on, when they should drive with headlights on. But out on the highway, don't know which would be better to see parklights or headlights for on coming cars. |

| OOOhhhhhh!. Yeah I see alot of that too - ya think sometimes they feel they are payin a lightbill to turn thier headlights on.......... sorry - misunterstood!

| What time/day did you get your ticket compared to when you were dealing with the slow police car? There are different shifts and I don't think each shift has a female officer. As far as the officer smiling, well....they get complained on if they "look" grumpy or appear to be rude or if they smile, people think they are gloating. Either way, when you are getting a ticket you will still be PO'd so it makes no difference if the officer is standing on his/her head. |

| You sound like a person that has perhaps written a ticket before!! LOL

| Well if I wasn't singled out she sure didn't seem to bother with the rest. Here is a picture right after the ticket looking both direction. Note the lack of lights on the others? In fact she ignored a car that passed us as we turned the corner with no light on. I'm quite sure she knows exactly who I am and what I drive. I did get rather blunt with her driving intentions. By the way I also got ticked for no seatbelt. Now that I don't dispute. I normally always wear a belt but had just left the Med Center and was side tracked talking with Zeb about the problem. Who knows. Maybe she recognized him and his taking pictures at that wreck. Anyway. Whats the legal visibility distance before lights become a ticketing offense instead of a warning? ![]() ![]() Quote:
My problem was the ticket. I thought my lights were on and even pointed to my dash and showed her my fog lights were on. She said I had no lights. Well my fog lights don't even come on without my head lights on. OK so my headlights were not on, so why not a warning? It's not as if I did it on purpose. In fact she knew as far as I knew they were on. It's all good. I can take my gloves off as well. I do carry a camera in my car
