Yeah ...I wonder what happened to that kid...he is grown now and it would be interesting to know how he has fared..

We older mature folks know that swats never hurt our little egos and swats showed what our boundaries were...certain behaviors would not be tolerated and we were "afraid" to try that again...

I got threatened with swats for chewing gum in class and needless to say...no more gum...

Parents aren't allowed to parent anymore...our Government in all its wisdom has forbid corporal punishment ....and kids know it... A neighbor of mine....spanked her 11 year old and the kid called 911.... an officer had to come spend an hour to calm the kid down...The mother tucked her tail between her legs and just cried....

My grandaughter has a one year old....and let me tell you.... this one year old is going on 13.....hard headedist baby Ive ever seen.... she will keep on and keep on doing what ever you have told her not to do... for instance....get into the trash , she will look at you as her sweet little hand is going into it and see if you notice... .... I know ...you say....move the trash where she can't get to it...... with this child you need to empty your house ..her mother has no control ... I say ....pull her little diaper down and set her ass on fire.....you only have to do that a couple of times and they get the Idea...Too young to spank...???? This one knows exactly what she is doing... and does it.....by the way.....she is a redhead...... oops am I profiling redheads....
Funny tho.... when mom is not around and I have the baby... I dont have a problem at all ....all I have to do is say NO...


Long story short Parents have lost control ....fear of social services ....

That dooesn't work so well with me. I work a rotating shift so there are times I work 7 midnight shifts in a row and sleep during the day. Sometimes my grass gets a little high. Sometimes, about the time that I am about ready to mow, somebody will have called on me an I get a letter telling me I have 10 days to mow it. Guess what? At that point, I get pissed and defiant and go ahead and wait the full 10 days before mowing. If the person that turned me in wouldn't have, my yard would have been mowed much sooner.

Ain't nuthin like gettin that bright orange 7 X 4 "ticket" slappen on your storm door glass! It looks like friggin car waitin to be towed ticket!! I feel for ya Bubba!! I have a guy that has been doin my yard for bout 8 years. I had a hell of a time gettin that crap off the glass! I used to travel a bit before I left Dodge and got "reported" too - LOL really ticked me off at the time especially since they also told me I couldn't park an extra car on my grass next to my driveway. When I could go 2 block and show them cars jacked up in folks' front yard........... when they had a driveway....... geesh - I feel the pain there!!! LOL

Nothings changed Texie!! They still have MULTIPLE FAMILIES living in SINGLE FAMILY DWELLINGS, all over town, and parking vehicles all over the place!! When you complain, you just get the run-around!!

Ya know, if I ever got a letter like that and was in your circumstances, I'd just mow when the neighbors mow - - when I get off work..... at 5 or 6 am!!!

So there are laws that stop them from checking these people out, but laws that are suppose to protect us from these crimminals that can't be enforced for whatever reason? Makes sense to me!
I have a hard time understanding this at all, but I do know that if the Police Dept. can't protect its citizens and our properties from these pukes for whatever reason, then we will have to do the job ourselves. Yet I know, that if these pukes were to see a patrol car crusing around residential streets, this would at least be a deterant. All I know, is that I am sick and tired of things like this happening over and over, and nothing is being done to stop it. Like I said before, if I have to take the law into my own hands to protect my property and my family, then I will most assuredly do so. I can't believe that catching "speeders" would be more important than protecting our property and families. Yet I can just imagine that our city politicians want them to generate more revenue for the city, by catching those who break the speed limits and can be fined for speeding. Yet catching the vandals or gang members or druggies would not generate any revenue for the city, but take it instead. If this is true, then we see where the city politicians and other department heads priorities are. What I know for sure, is that something has to be done to stop this crap, one way or another.

I am sorry that my first post on this board had to be this, I would much rather had a uplifting story to tell, not this. Thanks for hearing me out.

I read this post and thought....wow I ran the streets for years, driving drunk, having drugs on me(lots of drugs), and so on. I have to laugh because honestly, I felt like I was being ignored. It was almost like they were told to ignore me. I was pulled over once just so the cop could meet me. he said and I quote " I just wanted to meet the infamous (name here)." I was like WTF??? I am not kidding either. hmmmmmmmmmmm makes ya wonder
