I believe we're down by 4 or 5 right now. Your numbers are correct though. We average anywhere from 6 to 7 on weekdays to 8 or 9 on weekdend nights. If you were to ask me or any other cop in DC, we would all agree that we need many more than what we have. I think we will all also agree that we do a damn good job with the numbers we do have...anyone need an app?

I couldn't do the job you all do. Good work. I think we all appreciate what you do, well, except the criminals.

Hey I couldn't do the job you do either, or maybe I could, but I don't want to LOL! My job is hard enough. What I was saying is all the crap I was doing for years and it was like I was being ignored. That is all I am saying.

Thanks to the officer who;

patroled by my home, and actually parked his patrol car and got out and looked over my camper. This happened on Friday night around midnight, and when I saw him, I thought I was seeing things! GOOD THINGS!

And to all who posted on my subject, I was amazed and gratified. All of you made my day a bright one and re-enforced my belief in people again! Thanks to all! God Bless!

If you haven't already seen from the "I need Advice" post about me going to california. Then know this Craigb is my dad. We live in the same home and have shared all of these experiences. We both greatly appreciate all the comments on this specific forum. Especially from those who are local PD.

How many PD's are fully staffed? I would say very few. I have been to Iraq (91) and would STILL not DO what these guys do here in Dodge. I think they should be given full resources to do whatever it takes to reign in the criminals....Perhaps the packing plants should pony up for a couple extra officers salary a year....

[quote=Army_of_One;36971]How many PD's are fully staffed?QUOTE]

And I guess that leads me back to my post. It seems to me that if we are only 4-5 officers short, then that would add about 1-2 per shift. Please correct me if I'm wrong, as I don't know the staffing hours of the PD. But with close to 5000 outstanding warrants (according to the Globe on Sat talking about the amnesty program) an additional 1-2 officers a shift just doesn't seem to do this town justice. That's a warrant for 1 in 10 residents in Ford County! I know cops can't be everywhere all the time and for me, they've done a great job! (Thanks officers!) To me, the average citizen, it just looks like adding 1 or 2 more officers isn't going to deter much crime. We need more! But perhaps, that's the vigilante in me!

I'm not a vigilante! I'm an undocumented Border Patrol Agent.
