The Pratt County Humane Society says the goldfish was in a fish tank found intact under the rubble of the EF-5 twister that destroyed the town May 4. Humane Society manager Alice Bailey said everything around the tank was demolished. About 200 pets have been claimed by their owners, and 100 other animals – including the goldfish – are being cared for by the humane society in a Department of Transportation building. They're expected to be moved to the humane society this week. Bailey said she'll wait 30 days for owners to get their pets, then they'll be adopted out – and none will be put down. Tornado victims who can't take their pets now can board them at the Humane Society.

| Graduation in tornado-torn Kansas town http://www.wzzm13.com/news/news_arti...?storyid=75483 Graduation in tornado-torn Kansas town Created: 5/20/2007 8:15:31 AM Updated: 5/20/2007 8:18:16 AM GREENSBURG, Kan. (AP) - Residents of tornado-devastated Greensburg, Kansas, celebrated their high school's commencement Saturday, mixing tearful memories with promises to rebuild. Under two large tents set up at the town's golf course, 25 graduates from Greensburg High claimed their diplomas before a crowd of about 15-hundred family members, friends and neighbors. Across town, their school - like 95 percent of the community - lay in rubble from the May fourth tornado that killed ten people. U.S. Senator Pat Roberts told graduates their commencement was part of the rebuilding of the community and has the "respectful attention and admiration of millions of Americans." Co-valedictorian Slade Headrick told classmates how he got lost when he first came back to Greensburg after the tornado because all the landmarks were gone. He said the town will be rebuilt "bigger and better" than it was.

| I'm so proud of these folks for continuing their traditions through all the odds. I saw it on the local news last night (Kansas City news). Brave, brave people. This kind of thing would have taken a lot of courage for both the seniors and their families. I would have been devastated, but these folks are moving on. Wish we had more like them all over the country.
