A tornado touch down in greensburg this evening wiping out 60 percent of their town. Scanner pretty busy this evening

yep - watching the TV - what a mess. Heard the scanner calling for more coroners from Dodge City. Lots of fatalities, according to the scanner.

Hi guys. New member. I grew up in Dodge City and still have family and friends there.

I got a call from my mom about this earlier. It is too late to call her now for updates and I remembered this board and thought I would be a good place to get more information as it came in.

I'm watching the KSN live feed. I just heard the tornado hit many other towns along the way.

Any new information?

KSN just reported at least one fatality.

I was just called from the hospital to be on standby. Looks really bad

I called and offered my house as a shelter since I have 5 bedrooms. If anyone else has room, I invite you to do the same. Call communications 227-4646 and they will give your info to the Red Cross. I also have a camper in the front yard that sleeps 6.

Lots of peole without homes and no place to sleep tonite. I heard they have busses going over there now to bring people back to Dodge. I also heard on the scanner that they are bringing the people from the jail over to our jail.

Its a huge catastrophe.

Pray for the victims.

I'm sitting here at work. I just shut off the TV. 63 injured, 4 airlifted to Via Christi in Wichita for critical care. 9 brought to W Plains here in Dodge, two of the airlifted were originally brought to Dodge. 1 confirmed Fatality possibly a 2nd but there is some confusion as to whether the victim is the same that they died or someone else.

Pratt County Sherriffs are saying this storm at a mile and a half wide. The Weather Channel web site it reporting 100mph winds making this nearly and F-2 classified Tornado.

Scary stuff. This is the 2nd "Super Cell" storm that has moved across this area in recent weeks. I remember how bad the rain was when I was driving home from Denver on the 21st of last month.
