seat belts aren't required on ranches and farms I bet............... if it's your property - I think it's still your business.............. just a thought.

I agree - it's probably not against the law, but sets a poor example. A guy in his position has to always be cognizant of the example he sets.

The reminder was for us little folk! Our local PD is hangin out under the freeway on the turn around and stoppin them as they do the Uie under the freeway.

As far as I know, in Kansas you can't be stopped for just not being buckled. They have to have another legitimate reason for stopping you, then while they have you for that they can ticket you for no seatbelt. Unless the law has changed recently.

So the "nationwide" doesn't apply to Ks????............... could be but I find that hard to believe that they get federal $$ to enforce this during this week and KS is exempt. I have been wrong before tho. Don't know why folks wanna take the chance of dyin so bad. But hey - it's afree country, at least for today.

There are signs up on both sides of the state line up here - I think Kansas was included. Either that or they're trying to give us more than fair warning before we cross into Missouri!

It officially becomes a law beginning the first of July (if I remember right). Personally, I think our laws are pushing us into a more "Dictator" State. I agree that wearing your seat belt, your motorcycle helmet, your bicycle helmet, etc., etc., probably has some life saving consequences, BUT this is supposed to be a FREE COUNTRY, and if I prefer not to wear a seat belt at all times, then I should not be punished for it!! Seems like the "laws" never end!! Didn't our ancestors originally come here to get away from all the laws, taxes, and restraint of freedoms?? Don't smoke, don't drive without a seat belt, can't drive without your wipers and lights on, can't carry for protection, can't protect your property, etc, etc, etc!! I think our country has gotten "Way Outta Control"!!
