| radio guy i know u are a straight shooter. And for those who do not see officers on Wyatt Earp during the day are not driving there much. I have seen a lot of officers even one standing with radar gun in hand to catch the speeders. Of course those that get caught complain about it, I am sure. Great job guy and gals. Keep up the good work. You would be suprised how often some one complains on officers telling them they are trapping them when they are on foot using the radar gun. Then this probably goes into the officers file somewhere. Even if nothing that was said was true. And like radio guy said there are construction workers working all hours of day and night. Some of the work has to be done during the cool of the night. And about officers is south Dodge. I know there is an officer assigned to that area but is probably busy doing other things. If the police department had and officer for every thing we all see there would be so many officers in town you could not jaywalk with out getting caught. Remember most people will obey the law if they see a police car therefor it is harder for officers to see others doing things wrong. I bet just about all of you will look at your speedometer when you see a black and white, even if you know you are not speeding. Well soryy for the ranting I have done and I am sure I will get slammed but that does not bother me. Thank you for listening to me. |

| I’m guessing it was rumor or we would have had all the gory details by now.

| Sometimes when there is a rumor on the street of a happnin - the police are lucky enough for thier "boyz" to clue them in and the presence of lots of PD can defuse a situation that "coulda" happened. Just cause you see lots of PD don't always mean it's happened. Sometimes the fact you see them keeps it from happenin. That's how "word up" goes. My guess is they were doin what your tax $$ pay them to do.......... keep the peace.

| Are you sure? Let me check the script….. Page…page…page… Oh yeah, here it is! I see the problem. TexKan dropped the queue line for my response “…My guess is they were doin what your tax $$ pay them to do….” too early. TK, you’re on page 8. Flip back to page 5, about half way down.

Let me start by saying that the few PD officers that post here try to answer, as best we can and within the guidelines set forth by the State and the Department, any questions we can. We may not answer in a timely fashion, since we may not have the information, cant give out the information or just plain dont feel like bothering with it (in this case sorry to say). Since Lurker has decided to start sniffing at the butt of the immortal conspiracy theory, again, I thought I would pass along what I know from last week... Yes, an incident happened in the area of said park. Yes, there was an individual injured, life-flighted to Wichita and, last I heard, was alive. Yes, it was probobly gang related. Yes, the PD made three arrests within hours of the attack. No, none of the local media mentioned it, nor were they there. No, there isn't any cover up. We just negected to send Lurker his personal copy of the reports and paperwork pertaining to all law enforcement in Dodge City, Ford County and the State of Kansas area. NLiRG and I take it upon ourselves to respond to things law enforcement on this board, but keep in mind, both of us will only comment on things that we have first hand knowledge or have the time or desire it takes to find out. Please dont feel that if we dont comment on a thread that we, as a department, or officers, are trying to cover anything up. Some things are so insanely out in left field that we wont bother with it anyway. With all that being said, myself and NLiRG will still attempt to be the Dodgeboard's Internet Public Relations Officers (IPRO) (that is just a joke, there is no such position. wouldnt want it anyway). I know NLiRG and I have both stepped over the line of what we should say in the effort squash rumor on this board. Sometime we did it and asked for forgiveness later. <shrug> We may not post on a thread due to how busy we are at work or in our personal lives, but we will try. Well, gotta go check to see if Hoffa is still where the DCPD left him. I hear he is still holding a map of the grassy knoll for us too. P158
