I think they started listing the jail bookings again. With the Globe it's probably a staffing issue. I'm sure they have too much to do without having to dispatch someone down to the Jail daily to get a report. Perhaps fax or email would fix that. I think printing the names of people getting arrested and for what shows that the police are out there doing their job. I read it the other day and said to myself "wow, be the police were busy that day".

I'm not saying nor will I ever say it is the LEO's job to report things to the public. They have their hands full here already being understaffed such. I just think there should be a mechanism in place to help people in the community aware of what's going on in their city. Sure everyone can go down and get police records (i do it as a recruiter)(the jail charges $10.00 to release information by the way) but that doesn't help the average joe on the street. I think if you arm people with information they can make better decisions and MAYBE help out around here. The bottom line is that for a small community there is WAY too much crime here to include the little gang bangers doing their thing. I would THINK from a LEO standpoint that I would want to get as MUCH of the community involved in a neighborhood watch type thing as I could. Imagine if you had people calling in reporting things instead of ignoring them. Maybe it would make YOUR job easier and our community a little safer.

I like to read the positive stories too about the bicycles and such but to ME the REAL positive story is when you take a drug dealer, rapist or the equivelant off the street. THAT is a positive story to get excited about! Anyone can deliver gifts to poor kids...the military does it, the salvation army does it, bb/bs does it...the list goes on and on but NONE of those people can take a drug dealer or a rapist off the street. How about the look of happiness of all the citizens of Dodge when you bust a meth house?

I would say that LEO's help out everyday. Everytime they write a ticket for someone speeding in a school zone they may have saved a young kids life. Every time they arrest a gang member that may be the one that would have vandalized your stuff. I believe they help everyone in the community either directly or indirectly. While most of us DO pick our own jobs...MOST couldn't BE a LEO nor would want to DO that job....I for one wouldn't do it and I'm GLAD there are those that WANT to do it....

Your right, you don't have a clue about cyber crimes or how to handle them. None of you do, so yes I lump you in with all the others from my local PD. Just like Tee, you have entered into my world. I could hand you a net criminal on a silver platter and you would say? Oh we don't know how to handle that, and it's obvious you don't.

I never even suggested that you patrol Boulder. Oh I get it, there is an unknown law I am aware of that PD's can not communicate with maybe even a phone call? Hell no, you have important work to do. My call to the DCPD for help was a waste of time, just like your post in reply to me.


That being said, It was several years ago, and the same people are probably not even there now. Yes, I am still angry and will be forever over how it was handled. Was I talking in response to you? No, that reply goes to spike and his ungrateful civilians reply. Does that mean I don't like spike? heck no. Hell, Carl, I don't even know you but we have met several times threw the years with bands and radio. I wouldn't expect you to remember me. If I have any impression of you, it's because of what you post. Reason I don't post much? because I am never intimidated and compound that with not being able to type what i think is a bad combo for posting on boards.

Ok , explain it again how it is I am suppose to know what the hell they are doing on patrol? Which brings us back to communication with the public.

I still think your anger is misdirected - if the Globe doesn't use the tools that are there to report - go talk to the globe. I doubt if you will ever understand the cops side..... blah blah blah............... but I will say that today while I watched the Texas Police Games it was nice to know that altho they weren't deliverin bikes blahblahblah........ they were doin good family things. Would like to mention that the record was broken today with a 600 lb bench. and the record holder for 900 dead wt lift was there. Pretty cool stuff - lots more interesting than whinnin cause I don't know what I'm too lazy to go get or too misdirected to hold the Globe to the fire. It's your paper just like it's your PD. Direct the questions and concerns to the right folks and ya might get the results you seek.

I am going to assume that reply was to someone else, because it makes no sense if it was directed at me. I was mearly makin a point. My post was solely to, about and for LEO's.


I got all kinds of true stories about cops. Never once was I arrested in any of the first hand stuff I have seen LEO's or Game Wardens do and say just because they could. better yet, go read Tat's post, it explains alot of what I have experienced.
