Gang violence in Lions Park??

I heard about a recent tragic incident of gang violence happening in the little park on Third Street. The rumor indicated a death.

Nothings been published as of yesterday.

The good news is city revenues are looking up with the additional enforcement of construction traffic laws on North and the Wyatt Earp area of Fourteenth.

You sure can tell that school is out. If you drive around town you see more and more graffiti. Im so sick of it. I wish those little gang bangers would go spray paint their own house!!! I just dont understand why they think they need to ruin someone elses property. Sure is making Dodge look like crap.

Again, just because something isnt published does not mean it has not been handled. And, even you said, "...the RUMOR indicated...". Most rumors turn out to be false, from what I have seen.

Do you realize traffic enforcement is just a secondary part of an officer's duties? It is what we do when we are not taking calls or doing follow up. I dont see how you can criticize an officer for enforcing a POSTED speed zone or stop signs - would you like to tell us where and when we can enforce traffic laws? Plus, as far as the construction zone is concerned, it is a safety issue for the workers with cars whizzing by at 35+ miles an hour. I know, you are now gonna counter with the fact that workers arent out at night - but they actually are! And there is no way to put a speed zone up for certain hours of the day - just not feasable.

BUT the question remains...was it a rumor in THIS case or was it true???

I bet it's public info you can get from the PD............... just cause Radio hangs here doesn't mean he can flap his mouth at rumors..................... that's just a bad taste question! You can always go to the PD and start a rumor that you live in that neighborhood and for safety sake you would like to know if it's true! It's been rumored they will tell ya!

I remember all sorts of fights happening at that park when I was in high school. When the high school was still on first ave. Sounds like not much else has changed. My son goes to pre school at Bright Beginnings, towards the end of the school year they went to that park, there was some kids digging in the dirt making castles and what not, and 3 of the little girls found a whole mess of broken glass. Luckily instead of playing in it or attracting other kids to it they grabbed a teacher. There was soooooo much glass and trash in the dirt. I will never take my son there again. I think alot of these punk a** kids need to find better things to do w/ their time besides destroying other peoples property.

A long, long time ago and in a land called "common sense" there was a society who understood street signs that said things like:

"SCHOOL ZONE
SPEED LIMIT
20 MPH
WHEN CHILDREN
ARE PRESENT"

and a legal system that also understood logikal theeeenking.




Those signs also sported a picture of a little child so'z the cops could understand...




which leads me to believe that no one knows how to create a picture of Mexicans wearing yellow and stupervisors wearing orange.

I am not that concerned about it...or really care that much...but I am wondering why someone left me negative rep points on my earlier post? Including calling me names? I didnt attack anyone, I was merely trying to point out my view. And TexKan is correct - I cant comment on on-going investigations, and I never will. But there are some matters that ARE public record - if you are that interested in seeing if a crime was committed or if someone was arrested, then go to the PD and SO and ask to see what paperwork they have that is public record.
