| I went up that street in front of the Post Office the other day and some lady was "waiting" on a parking place and had traffic backed up behind her for a block and a half...it was ridiculous....

| That's the street I avoid during those hours (unless I'm lurking for tire-mail). I do see the smart "postal patrons" using the Presbyterian parking lot... alot.

| First, Are there any signs that say 5 min. parking there any more. Second, I heard that the DCPD requested four more officers and were denied them. I understand they are to the limits of being proactive. (not enough officers to handle the call load and do preventive policing) You do not want a reactive police department. They would only take reports and would not usually be able to do any follow up. There was a time in Dodge City when the police department was reactive only and it was not a pretty sight. It is difficult enough to keep good officers here now. If you dont support paying more money to good officers and keep increasing the number of officers you will only have a reactive department and will get behind in being competive in a limited market. Let the Chief or any supervisor know if you dont agree with the way things are being done, because if they dont know he cant address it. |

| ..and where would you get the money for that? Would you raise taxes and if so on who or would you cut the budget and if so where?

Don't worry YWS - people get paid to iron out those details.......... it's OK to be "for" something even if ya don't get into how to pay for it. Not everything in this world needs to be disected to the inth degree................... geesh!
