| Where the Dodge City Daily Globe on this ? Dodge City Police Docket missing | Auction house tried to sell it Why Not Dodge!! No coverage at all yet in the 'local' paper... Thank goodness for the Hutchinson News coverage of actual news in Dodge City. And bonus -- they get all the AP credit nation wide....... |

| Gee, don't attack the messenger | Question was valid Some of the Associated Press Coverage Lawrence Journal World Topeka Capital-Journal Kansas City Star Arizona Daily Star and Hays and Parsons and High Plains Journal and others. Didn't say that Globe people aren't nice, or don't work hard, or don't ever cover local news, or don't take baths. Still a valid question. Seems some little thing might have been worked in -- they use a lot of AP, they had the same information as the Hutch News started with -- perhaps you're suggesting that the news judgement of the papers above is weaker than the Globe's? PS: KONQ Radio -- do be aware that this seems to have disappeared in late 1950s from Dodge City -- just didn't want to start a problem for any curator here in last few decades. |

| Having a bad day, Hockeychump?? ![]() The Globe has improved a lot over the past few months. The trend has been towards more local news, which is good. The police reports have improved. The jail bookings are now listed. And many features on local people, etc, have been added. There are still improvements that can be made, and things looked at to improve upon. On the other hand, some things just don't get printed in our local paper, like they should. When it is the public's right to know, and other papers are printing the story; why is it not printed in the Globe? Well most of us know why, and we are not blaming everyone that works at the Globe! |

| I think the Globe has improved. Since there is only so much room in the paper for news they have to decide what's important and what's not. Hutch may decide something is more important than other things. Maybe Hutch doens't have enough things going on that they have to cover Dodge City also to fill up their paper...lol.

| NO media DESERVES support just because it exists. If the Globe wants support maybe it should suck less. That's pretty much my take on ALL media outlets anymore. They continually pander to the lowest common denomiator to pay the bills and real journalistic integrity be damned. If you want support in ANY venture, you EARN it. You don't complain, "nobody likes me! Why doesn't anyone like me?" Oh LOOK over there is that the waaaaambulance?

Good points Wordy sans the waaaaaambulance comment. I think the Globe is working towards earning respect by their improvements. I believe if you give them quality input that they will sincerely try to improve based on your input.
