Dodge City, Kansas (including Dodge City Highschool, where between 50 and 100 members reside, according to user sources

I must say hats off to our Gang Detail guys! They work hard and do a great job. Our whole department does whatever it can to crack down on it, but we could use all the help we can get. And by the way...no such thing as a "wanna be". Most of the times these guys are the worst. Do whatever to make a name for themselves in their sets or to impress others. Most of them dont even really understand the real reason why they are doing it. Very sad...We say NO TOLERANCE!

Thanks for the input Vin. You guys can word hard and do a great job but that's just the beginning. What happens to them after they are arrested? Do they post bond and then not show up for court? If they do show up what happens to them?

I agree that you can use all the help you can get. I believe the public needs to be educated and should have some type of "gang hotline" or whatever they can call to report any and all gang activity. If we had a community of citizens aware of what's going on and be in a "not going to tolerate" this crap mode maybe we could make a difference. Most people don't even know what a gang member looks like.

Its fear that keeps people silent. From what I saw on that History Channel program the BANGERS that are in prison still have control of the streets.

Are we gonna turn into the middle east with our home grown terrorists ?

When my moms Halloween decorations were stolen we knew where they went but couldn't do anything because the house was a "known gang house" and the witness was afraid to sign a statement for a warrant.

I think when the City as a whole decides to not put up with it anymore, we could see a dramatic change on the streets. You are also correct about what happens to them. If they dont show up to court, we just hunt them down with warrants. I think that our Justice system needs to start seeing this activity in a much more severe way. I dont know, maybe classify it as "Domestic Terrorism" instead of "Gang activity". Make it sound more serious, and make the punishment more harsh. Regardless, we will continue to have no tolerance and deal with them accordingly on our end of the deal. As a community, watch your surroundings carefully, be aware of what your kids are doing and who they are hanging around. I think that it one of the main issues! Most of the new members are in Jr High school for crying out loud! Parents need to buckle down and butt heads more often. And of course, call us if you see anything! I would like to see more people interested in learning about what is going on in DC. Not just about gangs in general, but our gangs that are here. Colors, signs, clothes, graffiti, etc. We have the resources to help educate the public. Anyone interested? All your help is wanted and needed!Thanks!
