Any nutjob who would murder someone because, "If I can't have them nobody can," would want that keepsake.

No one knows where the bolt is, according to the KBI it was in the glock box during the intial investigation, where they took pictures of it, then after they went back to collect the 270 and the bolt, the bolt was missing, according to the KBI.
They have pictures of the glock box, the 270, 2 other shotguns, and ammo, yet they don't have any pictures of the bolt.
The mini disk in which that was stored was said to be scratched and unreadable. But yet they have pictures of everything else.

Without the bolt, there's no ballistics..
Therefore, they could not offer his .270 as evidence.

I got this in a Private message

lies lies lies

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i won't air any more of my problems with you in an a post, serves no purpose. However, had you any shred of evidence that Chris was invovled in a rape, the time to come forward was long before last summer when he was already a suspect in a murder. No ma'am, all you have done was told a bunch of lies without any facts.
Whatever Chris did to you, you need to get over it and stop spreading wild accuastions.
Private Message from Wheres the Evidence

Ok once again WTE...I never said he was involved in a rape.

So...
Bolt was there. Bolt disapeared (sic) between being photographed (supposedly) and evidence collected.

So either:
A] police disposed of bolt so it could not be taken into evidence. This would render the gun as not being allowed into evidence. They would do this either because the gun was not used and didn't want conflicting stories or gun was used and they didn't want it to be used as evidence to convict him.

B] Chris or someone close to him disposed of bolt. This would be done for the same reason of keeping it out of evidence.

Which one seems more logical? Who gained by it being missing? Why get rid of the bolt and not the gun? (Because he knew they found and saw the gun but did not know they found the bolt) I garuntee you they did not tell him about finding the bolt. You cannot trace a .270 bullet if it has impacted anything. You can, though, trace markings on the caseing and firing pin.

With the confession they did not need to introduce the gun into evidence. He said what he used, they found a gun that fit that in his possesion BEFORE the confession, so gun not needed.

What other shell casings where in the box? I would assume he shot many times, and had many good scores or good shots. So he kept only one shell casing as a momento of his acheivement? Big stretch.

When did they find the shoes in the trash? Mine dry pretty quick. I aloso walk around in my yard while watering the grass, but you wouldn't know it. You might see prints immediately, but they do not last like they do in snow or mud. Again, did he say he put them in the trash? Then why try to prove, if you are the police, that he didn't? They are not going to try and disprove what he confessed to unless it doesn't fit.

Or the bolt was never in the house, per his testimony. He testified that the bolt had been missing since shooting the rifle in January or shortly thereafter. There are a alot of agruements for where the bolt is, but the KBI said they had pictures of the bolt, where are the pictures?
The mini disc which they said had the disc was unreadable or damaged in some way, yet they had pictures of all the other items closely associated with the bolt in the closet.
It's a big stretch to me for them to have all these pictures of all the guns, ammo, boxes (which supposedly had the bolt), and present them in court, but the pictures that actually showed the bolt were missing, due to a damaged mini-disc.
The shoes were found on Saturday.

Who cares? The case is closed and you ARE NOT going to change anybody else's mind on the matter.
